In other words, hes so happy hes dumb, in a sense.
Now regardless of lyrical content, the first thing that sprung to MY head was how much better depressed, fucked up writers are than joyous, rapturous ones.
Perhaps as a result of Rapture doing some muse-raping.
But again, that's without taking into account all the literary allusions in the lyrics.
I saw a couple of other comments that said yours was awesome, and I was looking forward to finding it so I could see your analysis of this song.
Then I saw it and just realized that all you had to say was that one band was better than another. As someone who has been greatly affected by rape, I would really REALLY appreciate it if you would not associate rape with dominance or superiority in general, especially of mundane things, such as which band is better than another. You may think that I'm nitpicking, or overly sensitive, but please know that I and other rape victims really appreciate it when people don't contribute to rape culture. There are other ways to express what you are trying to say. Please utilize them. Thank you. Now, on with the music!

It seems like everyone always looks for romance to be the first meaning in every song, and they stick to that principle until it becomes painfully obvious it is not about romance.
What part of this would make you think that its about a girl that he has found happiness with? It's about happiness, but why come to the conclusion its about romance? The closest thing that could possibly be related would be "You hit me so hard"; that should not enough to make one think someone is enraptured with a girl. And apparently it would seem that is completely wrong; as someone said before, it just came to KB.
My exasperation is because I see this kind of analysis for tons of songs. Not every fucking song is about romance, we already have enough of those in the world, stop making up stupid meanings.

this person makes the narrator happy.
"my equilibrium is spinning" this makes me think that the narrator is becoming dependent upon the said person, they are unbalanced because they have started to become dependent upon this person.
chorus)
i would wager that kevin barnes is the muse, and the rapture is the breakup or possibly a friendship gone wrong ("you don't notice that its kissing ya")
He is now lost without said person, or bored. "the void that's left confuses"
