I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please, while you're looking up at me
You're like my favorite damn disease

And I love the places that we go
And I love the people that you know
And I love the way you can't say "No" too many long lines in a row
I love the powder on your nose

Ouh, and now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
Now I did, you wonder why

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
Now I did, you wonder why

I like the freckles on your chest
And I like the way you like me best
And I like the way you're not impressed, while you put me to the test

I like the white stains on your dress
And I love the way you pass the check
And I love the good times that you wreck (The good times that you wreck)

And I love your lack of self respect
While you're passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

Ouh and I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
Now I did, you wonder why

And I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
Now I did, you wonder why
Why not before, you never tried
Gone for good, and this is it

I like your pants around your feet
And I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please, while you're looking up at me
You're like my favorite damn disease

And I hate the places that we go
And I hate the people that you know
And I hate the way you can't say "No" too many long lines in a row
I hate the powder on your nose

Ouh and now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
Now I did, you wonder why

And now I know who you are
It wasn't that hard
Just to figure you out
Now I did, you wonder why
Why not before, you never tried
Gone for good, and this is it
Ooh

It seems to me like it's about a guy who meets a wild chick who's already doing coke, and going to big parties, and he loves it. Then as he gets past the great sex, and wild times, he realizes that the whole scene they're involved in is f**ked up beyond belief and starts to hate the girl for getting him involved with it in the first place.

I think it's about being in a relationship where you totally hate the person but just stay with them for the sex. He seems totally disgusted by her and the figuared you out bit propbably is when he has worked out what she is really like.

This song embodies Nickelback's entire existence: macho assholes with misogynistic views about women.

No one ever noticed that when he says 1:24 "I LOVE THE WAY U PASS THE CHECK" means he loves even when SHE SHITS ON HIS COCK when they are doing some anal lol

It is a "HIDDEN" slang among prostitutes and homossexuals.. And no, I'm not any of them LOL I just hang out w some night creatures who are full of IMORAL WISDOM... Also, THE REST OF THE VERSES RATIFIES THIS:

I love the way you pass the check (he loves anything in her, even when she shits on his cock, although times are wrecked when she SHIT ON HIS COCK ) I love your lack of self-respect (She doesnt care to SHIT while being fucked in her ASSHOLE) While you passed out on the deck (to ratificate her lack of self respect) I love my hands around you neck ( ratificates it is a fucking context: she was shiting on his cock)

I don't even know all the lyrics and I'm not sure if the ones I know are correct so if anyone has any corrections to make on it, feel free to tell me.

if you/when you download that song, the new lyrics should look like this:

I like your pants around your feet I love the dirt that's on your knees I like the way you still say please While you're looking up at me You're like my favourite damn disease

I love the places that we go I love the people that you know I love the way you can't say no Too many long nights in a row I love your lack of self control

And now I know who you are It wasn't that I Just figured you out -> Can't make this out Can't make this out Can't make this out Can't make this out Can't make this out Can't make this out

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
