    General Comment:It's about pressures from the record company, about "hangers on" the people that only like them for their (potential)success and what they think they can get out of it, and about the downside of fame- Caleb can't even have a minute to himself to jerk off in the bathroom. I think this song is ALL Caleb, cuz he seems to have the most issues with the "fame" part.

    General Comment:Well, I would say that its about their commercialization because after this CD they had to revamp their image so it was more pleasing to the eyes and for more viewers... but a lot of this has to do with, that, Everybody wants to dow hat they want to do, and they want to do what everybody else wants to do. And that is to be popular and gain money and fame...

    General Comment:This is my favorite Kings of Leon song. It's a pretty simple message I think, but for a while I didn't understand the line "you're gettin' your information from the grocery check-out line". Now I realize he's referring to people reading the tabloids on the racks when they're waiting in the check-out line. Obviously this isn't literal (or at least I don't think they were that popular during their 1st album).

    I love this song so much. Whenever I'm mad I throw it on. It's good like that.

    Also on a more interesting side-note:
    I think the "I can't get alone in my bathroom, I need to give myself a hand" lyric is referencing him trying to masturbate but being unable to due to certain assholes bugging him while he's in there. This thought only occurred to me when I watched on YouTube "Genius" live in Britain, when he made a lude gesture while singing that lyric. EXCELLENT!

    General Comment:genius to me is a song about the 'the' bands and the paparazzi and the screaming fans and then right at the end 'i was only messing cause i had a little time' sums up how much effort they think they put into there music
