I met her in a club down in old Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like Cherry Cola
C-O-L-A Cola

She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola
La la la la Lola

Well I'm not the world's most physical guy
But when she squeezed me tight she nearly broke my spine
Oh my Lola
La la la la Lola

Well I'm not dumb, but I can't understand
Why she walked like a woman and talked like a man
Oh my Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

Well we drank champagne and danced all night
Under electric candlelight
She picked me up and sat me on her knee
And said "Dear boy, won't you come home with me?"

Well I'm not the world's most passionate guy
But when I looked in her eyes I almost fell for my Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola
Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

I pushed her away
I walked to the door
I fell to the floor
I got down on my knees
And I looked at her and she at me

That's the way that I wanted to stay
And I always wanted to be that way for my Lola
La la la la Lola

Girls will be boys and boys will be girls
It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world
Except for Lola
La la la la Lola

Well I left home just a week before
And I'd never ever kissed a woman before
Lola smiled and took me by the hand
And said "Dear boy, I'm gonna make you a man"

Well I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am and I'm glad I'm a man
So was Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

Lola
La la la la Lola
La la la la Lola

I think the government should give me a chainsaw and a map to the members of Busted and McFly's house's, I would even work 'pro-bono', it's for the good of the world after all.

For gods sake people! leave mcfly alone! it's not like they released it as a single and turned it into a joke, ok it may not be the best version but it was a B-side to one of their singles (or busted, not sure) and they were only having a laugh, they've also done a joke version of build me up buttercup, is someone gonna complain about that as well! if they done a cocked up version and released it then fair enough, insult them, but the only poeple who would ever hear them covering it were fans, and it makes me wonder, how most of the people commenting here have ever heard it , the must have either bought the single or downloaded it, and for someone who hates mcfly so much, they obvioulsy went to a lotta trouble to listen to this song!

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
