How is it that no one has commented on this song....in my opinion its the best SONG i have ever heard from HIM...its so deep and so true...i think that he's trying to not let go of some one who is trying to let go of him....or probabaly that he really loved some one and they didnt love him the same way...and he says "rescue me with your smile" like when i wake up i want and need you to be with me.

Wow someone needs their nappy changed. HIM's music is very drippy and lovey....but it isn't like they try to hide that fact.
That's one of the things that's so great about them - their lead singer is a guy who isn't afraid to be sensitivity or discuss emotions and romance. Stop trying to be so fucking macho.

Valo has a brilliant voice, and yes, correct, he is very good looking. He IS the band. I'd challenge most people to name another member.

Regardless, I like HIM a lot, although I don't have any of their albums, and this song is very very catchy.

Their lead singer is a turd, singing a bunch of meaningless sentimental bullshit, because he knows that a bunch of brain dead goth wannabes will get wet over it.

I'm not trying to be macho, I just like to listen to stuff that actually means something, not this meaningless crap.

All of HIM's songs follow a very simple formular:

1) take some crappy 80's depeche mode sounding beat.

2) Add a bunch of meaningless lyrics about being in love and dying and shit.

3) Add the words "my love" and "my darling", sporadically.

4) Sing it in a voice that sounds like your dog has just died.

5) Finally give it a name like "In Love and Death" or "Hearts in Rapture.

And there you have it, it takes no skill at all, just 5 simple steps and you will have a bunch of little black-clad freaks crying into their heart-o-gram t-shirts.

While I don't like the guy, I do however have to give props to Valo for the excellent job he is doing at cornering the market. Who knew that no talent and a bunch of 14 year olds wanting to suck your dick could become so profitable.

I've been a HIM fan for a realllly long time.. and that's Valo's natural voice, he doesn't make it deeper to sound a specific way...
They're from Finland, these are the kind of lyrics they write.. they don't do it on purpose to get the attention of girls.. the only reason they're really big here is because of Bam Margera. They don't do these things purposely.. it's just how they are. So stop bitching. Oh.. and why would you post here about how BAD HIM is when you don't like them? Well, I'm 19, straight, very happy, preppish, and come from a happy family. I still like HIM very much, I just have taste for a very wide variety of music. So I guess that proves quiffporn's theory wrong. Im not a 'black clad freak crying into my heartagram t-shirt' im not a 'brain dead goth' im not a 'girl who is going through puberty and all hormonal'

No, the theory is sound, the fact remains, that there are always exceptions to any rule.

I know a "prep" (I am british, this word seems kind of strange to me) who is into Morbid Angel and Impaled Nazarean, still the fact remains that as a rule, fans of these sort of bands, are generally goths or sweaty fat guys with long hair. In the same way, HIM generally appeal to teenagers, in search of an identity, who need to feel like they belong, while outwardly demonstrating how rebelious they are, because they wear eye liner and dress like some kind of "Homo-erotic tramp".

As you took the time to post a sensible message, I will ask you:

How can you be into this crap?

Fair enough if you find it kind of catchy, but how can these guys seriously be anyone's favorite band? They have the depth of a puddle.
