In my town where the system sleeps
Nobody gives a damn
It's up to you how to hide to flee
Their hunger never ends
Hateful design builds the structure divine
A territory cold as ice
An endless empire with cynic desire
Born of a broken spell

Feeling like a guttersnipe standing in line
Deciding his lifestyle by rolling the dice
One will stand another will fall down
Find your way out from the constant lack
Find your way out from the constant lack

You gotta get yourself a picture of what is going on
Cause their lips are sealed now
Their honesty never to be found
Hateful design builds the structure divine
A territory cold as ice
An endless empire with cynic desire
Born of a broken spell

Your pride is just a symbol
Another hidden excuse
For being such a savior
Distorting your sick self abuse

General Comment:El Cid is completely correct, even Soilwork's name regards a struggle between the small amount of rich men on the planet, and the vast amount of poor masses. It's all over them, and this song is almost a flagship for their disillusionment.

They're saying: You're asleep, sheeple. Time to wake up and give a shit about yourself.

General Comment:This song is simple...Anarchy...Soilwork has sever anti establishment undertows in many of their songs...

Think about it...it makes perfect sense.

General Comment:I agree with Nagamori, it definitely is 'Guttersnipe'

The definition of 'guttersnipe' is a street urchin, or a child who spends most of his/her life in the streets, which fits perfectly in with the song.

General Comment:to me it sounds like he is singing about a wartorn area. "In my town where the system sleeps
Nobody gives a damn" is about there is no military or police "It's up to you how to hide to flee
Their hunger never ends" is about takign care about only yourself and trying to survive thru the day. "Hateful design builds the structure divine
A territory cold as ice" buildings being destroyed with bombs and stuff, a territory as cold as ice. i cant really get thou.

General Comment:i guess song meanings are different to everyone so what i say a lot of people might not agree with...
to me its about living in a small town or confined space where theres more pressure to fit in and conform, blindness is a part as you can't see outside of the confined area but you know that staying where you are isnt going to get you far and "rolling the dice" isnt the best way to decide youre life

General Comment:It is 'guttersnipe'... cool song.

Seems like it might be describing the conflict between rich and poor, haven't looked much into it though.

General Comment:Oh and Disturbed, I think it sounds like that too *BUT* it couldn't be because of the context...

"Feeling like i gotta stop standing in line
Deciding his lifestyle by rolling the dice"

    The context wouldn't work..?
Wouldn't it be "my" not "his"?

    Just a thought.
