This is where I'll be
So heavenly
So come and dance with me Michael

So sexy, I'm sexy
So come and dance with me Michael

I'm all that you see, you want to see
So come and dance with me Michael

So close now, so close now
So come and dance with me
So come and dance with me
So come and dance with me

Michael you're the boy with all the leather hips
Sticky hair, sticky hips, stubble on my sticky lips
Michael you're the only one I'd ever want
The only one I'd ever want, the only one I ever want
Beautiful boys on a beautiful dance floor
Michael you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore
Michael waiting on a silver platter now
And nothing matters now

This is what I am, I am a man
So come and dance with me Michael

So strong now, it's strong now
So come and dance with me Michael

I'm all that you see, you wanna see
So come and dance with me, Michael

So close now
It's close now
So come and dance with me
So come and dance with me
So come and dance with me

Michael you're the boy with all the leather hips
Sticky hair, sticky hips, stubble on my sticky lips
Michael you're the only one I'd ever want
The only one I'd ever want, the only one I ever want
Beautiful boys on a beautiful dance floor
Michael you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore
Michael waiting on a silver platter now
And nothing matters now

Michael you're the only one I'd ever want
The only one I'd ever want, the only one I ever want
Michael you're the only one I'd ever want
The only one I'd ever want, the only one I ever want
Beautiful boys on a beautiful dance floor
Michael you're dancing like a beautiful dance whore
Michael waiting on a silver platter now
Nothing matters now, nothing matter, nothing matters, oh yeah

WOW. I wish I was insecure enough about my sexuality that a SONG would threaten it. This is a really good song. I thought people were suspose to be open minded these days.

    Guess not.

okay im a girl. but i don't see whats wrong with a guy singing about a guy? when a song like "i kissed a girl" is totally alright in the publics eye. if i sing "i kissed a girl" will that make me gay. oh no! No of course that won't. so..just stop.

anyway songmeaning: its about a guy being a attracted to a guy when he is dancing.

Look, don't get me wrong. I heart vagina. But this song is just really, really good. Honestly, I wish it weren't so difficult NOT to sing along. Funny thing, that one of the best songs on the cd has the most divisive lyrics. Just imagine a girl named Michael. Have you ever met a girl named Michael? No? Well, tell yourself she exists, and she is hell of beautiful.

Oh, my friend Michael says this song's about him...right. I read in an article on franzferdinand.org that it's actually about something Alex witnessed. One of his friends got drunk and this friend and Michael...well, you read the song.

i love this song. its very brave of FF to produce a song about homosexuality. i salute them for it salutes thats one of the reasons i like this band so much: they dont have to fit in the modern mold. dont get me wrong, im not one of those people obbsessed with indivudiality, but it is nice to hear something other than the norm once in a while.

‘Michael’ may at first appear to be a frank exploration of homoeroticism ("Michael you’re dancing like a beautiful dance whore") but really Alex is just playing at sexual roles in the same way Morrissey enjoyed 20 years ago.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
