the video pretty much explains the song lol but ill give you a hand. its about this guy/girl who has lead kind of a boring life so they decide to run off and have some fun but they're not really sure what fun is.

Actually... the US version of the music video has absolutely nothing to do with this song. The European version of the music video - which my friend saw in the UK and told me about - is full of raven feathers and other gothic stuff... coupled with the lyrics makes this song sound to me like it's about being underappreciated and waiting for things to get better.

I think that this song is about a guy that doesnt have much a social life, thus him "Waiting in the Shadows". He is looking for his break to leave the shadows, he feels alone, he feels like he needs a girlfriend or someone to talk too, and he has been waiting in his own shadows of darkness, and thats what is keeping him from socializing with other people. He probally stays home most of the time and feels lonely. He wants to step out of the shadow and start a new type of life because he is tired of staying in the shadows and watching and waiting, cause it aint going to happen.

Ok, the same rules apply here as with HIM, if you are female and you like this band, you have shit taste in music, if you are male and you like this band, you are a closet homosexual.

guiffporn, you cant determine whether or not someone is homersexual because of the music they listen too, there are no rules, people can listen to what ever they want to listen to, i like this band because they remind me of the cure.. well atleast this song does, i havent listened to the others much.

That said, the fact remains that the Rasmus are a huge pile of poppy shit.

MortalWombat, if you knew anything about Jane's Addiction, you would know that they are about pushing boundaries and pushing peoples 'taste buttons' and Perry Farrell has spent most of his life in bed with several women at the same time.

Hmm.. I haven't seen the US version of the song (I didn't even know The Rasmus were famous in the US :P), nor the UK version, but in the Nordic version there are basically only shots from the movie "Pahat Pojat" (="bad boys", this song was on the sountrack for that movie), and stuff, I remember correctly...

The songs starts off so sad. Like some one is lost and the need a cure for the pain of life.......and cancer relates to a uncurable thing. and song one lives in the dark side of life. and to me its like you need to kill before you escape the people, yet killing yourself would just make the pain go away.

this is a really cool song!! i have seen all three videos for it and they are all awesome in there different ways. to quiffporn please do everyone a favour and stop dissing bands just cos you dont like them does not mean that everyone shouldn't like them either and if you hate HIM and the rasmus so much why waste your time posting to them
