So tell me now, what do I have to do
To say things that will get through to you
I'll cross my fingers and I'll pray for you
To somehow see this site
Call me more convinced.
Say there's a way to cure this loneliness
With common sense

If I could be anything, I would be medication for you
And everything you've done wrong
If I could be anything, I would be one medal of honor
For you and everything that you've done right

Call me pathetic, call me what you will
Just please don't leave my side
You're so medicated,
You don't even remember my name
Or I'll bite my fingernails until it hurts no more
To dig you out

Today, a walk to forget,
I'd rather open up this casket, and jump inside
Sleep under the stars, with you tonight
I'd rather be below, than ever be without you
Your funeral can make it hard to breathe, they're few
And far between
The days are seeming shorter, these nights seem so much longer
I'm laying here when I should be there with you

General Comment:I can't express in words how much I love halifax. I think i've burned out my ipod listening to them. This song especially. It's so painful and emotional but they're so pationate in they're sining, i love it.

General Comment:This song makes me cry. No one can argue the meaning. It's depressing, but really beautiful at the same time.

General Comment:I saw them live 2.5 years ago, before the CD with this song came out, and they played it. But right before performing it, he mentioned that his grandfather just passed away and this song is about him.

General Comment:"i saw then live like two days ago and they said it was going to be their last time playing it live. "

Really, now? That's funny, because I saw them about 5 times this month and they played it every single time.

And MySensesHavFailed35 hit it right on the nose with the Mike quote.

General Comment:green day rips off an ataris lyric in one of their new songs on the radio, from the ataris song "road signs and rock songs" actually, the rip off is in the title of the song.

General Comment:"The song 'Sydney' is about how, in May of 2003, my grandfather Sydney Marcus died after a battle with Parkinson disease and a related condition, dementia, which causes memory loss. For me, this was a lot different than writing about a normal death in the family, because for the last year of his, my grandfather couldn't even recognize me. So I tried to use lines such as 'You're so medicated, you don't even remember my name,' to try to put people in my shoes and show them how hard it was. So the message is, take advantage of the time you have with loved ones, because unlike these songs, they won't be around forever" ---Mike Hunau

this is my favorite song off their EP along with broken glass syndrome
