This song is absolutely perfect. the lyrics, the melody, his voice. just everything. I can't even pick out a favorite because it's all just incredibly beautiful.

Although I've become rather burned out with Dave Matthews, I still have great appreciation for his amazing musical talents. He comes up with the best guitar licks and he seems to be able to capture a moment perfectly in his lyrics. This song is a good example of that. Dave will go down as one of the greatest singer/songwriters ever. He needs to be given more props for his guitar playing because he brings a style like no other and is one of the best guitarists ever in my opinion. No band on earth can give a show like DMB.

I love this line, it's a perfect description of how it feels after the loss of a lover. Everyday feels like the day they left.

God, that tugs at the heartstrings don't it? I was driving in my car when I put this CD in and heard it the first time.. I just thought I'd gotten over my g/f when I heard this- and I almost cried, I can't believe a song could make me that emotional, but Dave did it- I esp like the version with him and Trey Anastasio acoustic

correct me if im wrong but when tim and dave first started playing this didn't he say i want to be true instead of too...i heard this song way before it came out on record and the version i have is dated march 03 and he sayed true not 2 or maybe i just heard him wrong..

dave always paints a picture...its amazing i agree with all of you. i have these lyrics posted on my door at college. this was initially my favorite song on the album.

This is my favorite song off of the album, the meaning is clear but it is still so great. If you listen to the live track on the bonus CD, he also changes up the lyrics a little there.

I think this is song is so beautiful, but at the same time very melancholy. It is romantic in a somber way. This song reminds me of a cold winter's morning thinking of the person that you broke up with.

it's also about taking that person/love for granted. you think they'll always be there, and then one day they're not, and you don't know what to do w/ yourself. your whole life revolved around them (not in a bad way). but he's not mad about the breakup. it's like when you know it's gonna happen but you don't want it to. but it should. he can still remember the good times. "better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all." def one of my favs from some devil.

I hated the idea of a Dave solo album, and at first I refused to even listen to it. But then I heard this song right after I broke up with my first love. No singer/songwriter can touch my heart the way that Dave's voice and lyrics do. It really describes the heartache associated with losing someone you love but not being able to forget them, espeically the good times.

Anastaja definitely has it right. What is brilliant about this song is it goes beyond the obvios cliche. Looking back on the nostalgic parts of this relationship, he understands that it had to end for both involved but there will always be that regret or second thought that even despite that the lover had to go from his life (for whatever stupid or valid reason) that it's irrevelant. He would still like to be in those moments when they were blissful lovers enraptured in each other in the moment without thoughts of past or future. Brilliant.

Anastaja that was perfect....but i have to say that this song mean so much 2 because this did happened to mean i really thought that this person and i would be 2gether for a long time and of course it didn't turn out that way and this song really helped me to think of all the good times and the way we danced and u will always have those memeories and that is special to have and i thanks dave from the bottom of my heart for writting a song that got me through the hardest break up of my life

this song is my new favourite to play right now. always somewhere in the middle of it when i turn my ipod on, or in my recently played on my itunes. it's just amazing in every way. how does Dave do it? he managed to cheer me up when i got in tonight just by putting on Remember Two Things - then i had to listen to Stay Or Leave of course.
this song just makes me cry everytime i listen to it...without fail, in a good and a bad way sometimes.

those lyrics get me everytime. they're just so profound and mean so much to me. I owe so much to this song and to Dave Matthews ...they've helped me through a lot. as has the person who originally got me into Dave Matthews coincidentally. this song just means the world to me. it reminds me of sitting in my old boyfriends house, happy and chatting to his family.

i guess it just makes me think of looking back at a time when, in the eyes of a memory - all was right with the world.
