Everything's different
My head in the clouds

I hit this corner
With my foot on the gas
I started sliding, I lose it
Everything's different just like that

Oh my God, wait and see
What will soon become of me?
Frozen heart
Screaming wheels
Does that screaming come from me?
So damn lucky, when you went on ahead
You say, you say
I see you later
I heard what you said a few minutes later
I'm sliding
Everything's different, again

Oh my God, wait and see
What will soon become of me?
This frozen heart
Screaming wheels
But does that screaming come from me?
I'm dizzy from all this spinning
Now I'm thinking that you did all you could

When you said my love
Take it slowly
Ok, is what I said
Oh my God, wait and see
What will soon become of me?
Frozen heart
Screaming wheels

But does that screaming come from me?
Take me back, just before I was spinning
Take me back, just before I got dizzy
Take me back, amazing what a minute can do
Just like you

So, so, so, so, up, around, around, around
Amazing what a minute can do
Around, around, around
Ok

General Comment:Well I think the most creative part of this song is that when he writes that he is "so damn lucky because you went on a head", meaning he is only thinking about how lucky he is that his wife is not in the car, when he himself my be aboout to die.

My Opinion:Being in love makes me see love alusions in every damn song. I like the accident interpretation too, good song.

General Comment:Actually its about Daves sister getting in a wreck and passing away. "So damn lucky, that you went on ahead
    You said, you said
    I'll see you later...
I heard what you said a few minutes later
    Now I'm sliding
And everything's different again."and he writes the song in he perspective and his.

General Comment:This song is so light sounding for such a potentially serious topic (car accident).

Like so many Dave songs, this could have religious connotations.

General Comment:As for the meaning of the song itself....eh. Don't really care. Probably not a connotation thing, probably a really bad mixed metaphor thing.

But musically? Wow. Especially during this tour - anyone who hasn't heard it with the extended outro yet, check it out. Timmy, you are a fucking freak.

I know it was a Some Devil song, but fuck me I hope this makes the new album as a full-band version. It's just so damn good.

General Comment:I feel like this song has nothing to do with a car accident.. if you look behind the obvious...the feeling of a car crash can metaphorically relate to the feeling of your life changing in an instant, in a few other aspects of life like relationships, death, basically shock.. What happens when your in love, your almost on a cloud...all of a sudden that persons words effect your life more than you can imagine, one word can send you 'spinning'.. one event can totally throw off everything in 'your' world.
"its amazing what a minute can do" is the statement that really puts what i just said into perspective. In life, there are moments that change everything in our direction, our path, our day...
we break up with someone, our whole world can be thrown off.. feels like driving on a straight road, you know where your going.. you know whats ahead of you.. then all of a sudden there isa fog..you drive still, but out of no where you hit something..something you didnt expect as in life a break up or death or something can shock you and in that minute you know everything is going to change and feel and be different... you wonder "what will become of me?" or what happens now with my life, where will i go now?..

bla bla bla.. thats all i have to say...
basically i feel that everyone's perception is their own here...just as i see this, someone sees their own meaning behind a song in relation to thier life at that moment... but after reading some responses i figured id throw my own lol

General Comment:Want to hear something crazy? I was listening to this very song when during a car accident. My friend was driving my car on an very empty and icy road in the middle of the country and she took a turn to fast an crashed into a ditch and barbed wire fence. We were out in 5 below weather for an hour or so

Everything in this song fits that moment. It was freezing and quiet, and I remember spinning, and my friend screaming. I couldn't listen this song again for the longest time without thinking about it.

General Comment:Are DMB fans generally very religious? What is it about his songs that seems to incite religious interpretation? It's not like it's christian rock or anything. Just a question.
