To me these lines pretty much set the mood for the song. As in seeking reassurances through the notion of fate and all divinities or are we the true masters of our destiny? The light globes for me are about the relationship between moon and the waters rippling effect. This is abstractly reassuring as its like saying this is the way it is, always has been, always will be. Time and tide wait for no man. Bah, I fall victim to my own inarticulacy. Bollocks...

i think it's just a really abstract way to explain a lonely walk on the beach where you're thinking about stuff. you know in cartoons and stuff a light globe symolises an idea coming to someone?
