How can I just let you walk away
Just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath with you, oh
You're the only one who really knew me at all

How can you just walk away from me
When all I can do is watch you leave
Because we've shared the laughter and the pain, and even shared the tears
You're the only one who really knew me at all

So take a look at me now, because there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Take a look at me now, because there's just an empty space
And you coming back to me is against all odds
And that's what I've got to face

I wish I could just make you turn around
Turn around and see me cry
There's so much I need to say to you, so many reasons why
You're the only one who really knew me at all

So take a look at me now, because there's just an empty space
And there's nothing left here to remind me
Just the memory of your face
Take a look at me now, because there's just an empty space
But to wait for you, well, that's all I can do
And that's what I've got to face
Take a good look at me now, because I'll still be standing here
And you coming back to me is against all odds
That's the chance I've got to take, oh, oh

Just take a look at me now

General Comment:umm, ElizabethJoy44 , pretty sure "Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service isn't a cover. they wrote that song originally, then a bunch of other ppl covered it, inc iron & wine.

lol just had to point that one out sorry XD

General Comment:I don't care much for the Phill Colins version.
But The Postal Service really did a great job with tis one.
I'm not a big fan of their other covers like "Such Great Heights" and "We Will Become Sillouets",
The origonals are really great if you haven't heard them.
    But back to this song,
I think we have all felt this way after a break-up.
    And if you haven't yet,
    You will give it time.

General Comment:I'm actually not a big fan of this cover. I think it sounds kind of hollow, like they don't believe what they're singing, or like they just rushed through the song to be done with it. I'm a Postal Service fan, but this is definately not one of their best.

General Comment:When i first heard it, i was like WTf, lol and i am a wacky PS fan, but it grew on me. After a breakup and listening to the Phil Collins, this song is AMAZING!
