She walks to school with the lunch
She packed
Nobody knows what she's
Holdin' back
Wearin' the same dress
She wore yesterday
She hides the bruises with linen
And lace

(oh oh)

The teacher wonders but she
Doesn't ask
It's hard to see the pain
Behind the mask
Bearing the burden
Of a secret storm
Sometimes she wishes she was
Never born

[Chorus]
Through the wind and the rain
She stands hard as a stone
In her world that she can rise above
But her dreams give her wings
And she flies to a place where
She's loved
Concrete angel

Somebody cries in the middle
Of the night
The neighbors hear, but they turn
Out the lights
A fragile soul caught in the hands
Of fate
When morning comes
It'll be too late

[Chorus]

A statue stands in a shaded place
An angel girl with an upturned face
A name is written on a polished rock
A broken heart that the world forgot

[Chorus]

General Comment:I can fully understand and relate to this song. Just as the little girl in this song I was once a little girl being hurt by abuse. Also, like this little girl I too turned to stone as I experienced the death of trust, love, my childhood, innocence, and the list could go on. I am finally finding the freedom from abuse as this little girl has done as I continue to heal and move past my childhood abuse.

General Comment:omg. when i first heard this song, i waz in my weekly dance class. At first i thought it waz just about a girl who was the misfit, and had no freinds or anybody really special to her in her life; kinda like me(and i started to cry because i know how the girl felt( yes in dance class)). But then i heard the lyrics and started to sob ( yes still in dance class). after about two weeks my teacher stoped playing the song because she and many of the others saw how upset i was about this and we just moved on. But i haven't. Child abuse is wrong and it needs to be stoped. Please report any abuse you see, hear, or suspect.

General Comment:there really isnt a question about wat this song is about. the thing is, if u see someone and u can tell that there is something wrong, dont sit back and watch, tell someone! most likely, this person just needs somebody to ask, to tell them that everything is okay.

General Comment:The first time I ever heard this song one of my friends showed it to me, along with the video. I was completely blown away. To be honest I cried for at least ten minutes. Listening to a song like this really shows you what child abuse can lead to. It's honestly sad to think that parents would do that to their own children and not even care. It's honestly pathetic and horrible to think that there are so many that are living like this that no one knows about or doesn't care enough to do something about it. If you know about something like this going on you really need to tell someone about it before it ends like this.

General Comment:What's child abuse? I know what it means. I know it can hurt. I know it damages the human mind, the human body, and... the human soul. If that's the meaning of child abuse... then why do people do it? The problem is people get mad not mad... angry. People get angry with one another because poeple are bossy, pushy, and sometimes, exactly like child abuse... ful. People are ful with people. Let's just be honest with that. But, God didn't call people to be ful with one another. Since God sent His Only Son, God became incarnated, God became flesh, God became Man. Man, God became. Man, how can something you cannot see in your eyes in your physical eyes become man? Well... that's God. So, God's Son, Jesus to love one another, to forgive one another 70 times 7 and more. That's a lot of forgiving. A ton, infact. I have not met a person yet with child abuse. But, I do know it damages the human soul. Well, people say God is a Father. The truth is, He is, but not a ful father. He is the father, who disciplines in a manner where it's calm and peaceful he loves those who wrongs, he embraces those who have none, HE LOVES. SO, why do people do child abuse, because they don't know the FATHER the TRUE FATHER.
