The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah
I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide
I'm quiet you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide
Don't stop here
I've lost my place
I'm close behind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah
I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide
I'm quiet you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide
Don't stop here
I've lost my place
I'm close behind
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide
You finally find
You and I collide

Ya, they do and it takes alot to remeber that. Even though I fall down I can still be a good person, maybe I'm not a failure. The same for other people- when you're in a conflict with someone remember that. And those people that are are soooo perfect and so beautiful, you can't live with out them: they fall down sometimes to.
The song “Collide” by Howie Day captures Juliet’s quiet melancholy about her relationship with Romeo. In Act 3, Scene 3, Juliet and Romeo spend their last night together after Romeo has killed Tybalt. The song captures the moment when Juliet first wakes up and realizes the gravity of the situation. Day sings,
“The dawn is breaking,
A light shining through”
which is the setting for when Juliet commands Romeo,
“O now be gone, more light and light it grows.” (p. 174)
While Day talks about “the doubt filling [his] mind”, Juliet, too, worries that she will never see Romeo again. She even says,
“O God, I have an ill-divining soul!
Methinks I see thee, now thou art so low,
As one dead in the bottom of a tomb.” (p. 176)
Sadly, her premonition that Romeo will die comes true. It is as if “the stars refuse to shine” on this “pair of star-crossed lovers.”
two people in mutal understanding in the sense in love with eachother but they never confess their feelings to each other simply because fate would not make it possible, all there is, is just caress thrown colliding
The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
- For me this can be taken both literal and as a metaphor. In the metaphor it means.. after the hardships (the night) the light of the dawn is coming again: hope, peache, the good things.. they made it through... He is tangled up in her meaning he is really in love and holding on (holding on to them after the hardships which are represented as the night) to her while she is barely waking... she is still in the dark, afraid. Literally its just two people, he's hugging her and she's waking up
I'm open, your closed
Where I'll follow you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again
- This I take as two things: one- he is open to their love while she is scared and she closes herself.. he is telling her that he will follow her wherever she goes and he's scared that he will lose her. 2) Maybe he is telling her that he is open to follow her wherver she will go and that she's closed to the idea of moving if he leaves.. so he says that he's scared that if that happens he won't see her again. (or he's saying that he's scared that the fear is still consuming her. He's scared that the light mentioned in the previous verse will not reach her)
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind (This is how he sings it in the acoustic version.. he says "yours")
I somehow find you and I collide
- He is telling her that even if things are rought at the time things wil work out. He says that even if she has doubts about them, things will work out and be ok. they will be together.
I'm quiet you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know
I'm always on your mind
- He tells her that its ok to be scared that he is also scared by love
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I Somehow find you and I collide
- following what I previously said he is giving her confidence... "out of the back you fall in time" she is understanding what he is saying, she is in tune with him.
Don't stop here
I lost my place
I'm close behind
- This i take as the following.. he is telling her not to stop ther now that she is following him regaring the feeling.. she tells him she feels lost because she is letting go into this love "i lost my place" and then he answers back giving her confidence saying "I'm close behind" - allusion to the 2nd verse where he says he'll follow her wherever she'll go, he'll always be with her..
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find you and I collide
- She finally realises that this will work out and that they are meant to be :)
Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find you and I collide
- He is telling her that even though he is afraid as well he is confident on their relationship.. he is telling her its ok to be scared
When there is mistrust,
(Even the best fall down sometimes)
you will find faults even in a flawless thing,
(Even the wrong words seem to rhyme)
and all the negative stuffs will be anchored in your heart deep,
and you remember these vividly instead of the nice memories.
(Out of the doubt that fills my mind, I somehow find you and I collide.)
and then I'll find out that of all the doubts I have on your reasons do do stuffs,
I'm sure that you and I collide...
(Even the best fall down sometimes)
repeat
(Even the stars refuse to shine)
Our qualities fails to be recognized since we have so much misunderstandings
(Out of the back you fall in time, somehow find you and I collide)
A lil weird, but I think it means out of all the times i recall our past (conflicts), I'm sure you and I collide.
These few lines struck me hard that day, and so this is my interpretation for just this part, thus this might not be correct but it's personal.
A short time after that, we decided it wasn't working and we finished it. She went home for the weekend and saw the words of the song on her wall, and they seemed to take on a whole new meaning:
'Even the best fall down sometimes,
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme.'
This is when you break up- though it might seem completely wrong at the time and you both know you both still care about each other, 'even the wrong words seem to rhyme' and you still go you own separate ways. But you find that, in time, you come to a point where you realise you need that person back again, and you 'collide'.
Thats my reading of it anyway, might be a bit biased though!!
