One we were scum of the Earth
Now we've cleared our names
In Nifelheim came rebirth
Baptized in Mount Doom's flames

A decade now we've fought this war
Never yielding from our path
Our journeys take us to foreign shores
Where we let our metal blast

We've been battered and left for dead
We've been beaten and we have bled
But we always made it through - Vs the world
This may be our last quest
Before we're put to rest
The end is coming soon - Vs the world

Warriors of the grave tooks us south
Hell bent on genocide
They made us face the brutal truth
This would be no easy ride

Grotesque creatues of the sky
Met with us on winter fields
Christian god cast aside - Massacre of hallowed eve

We've been battered and left for dead
We've been beaten and we have bled
But we always made it through - Vs the world
This may be our last quest
Before we're put to rest
The end is coming soon - Vs the world

Persian demons brought us south
On merciless campaign
We've raided the western shores
Always going against the grain

All these years we've fought to win
And sometimes almost died
I tell you now we won't give in
Without a vicious fight

We've been battered and left for dead
We've been beaten and we have bled
Versus the world

General Comment:Nifelheim was were you came if you didn't die in an honorable battle, or something along the lines of that.

    A: Niflheim, not Nifelheim
B: Men who died not in battle went to Hel, not Niflheim

    Niflheim = Realm of mist
Hel = Realm of disgraced dead

General Comment:Metalheads, listen up: your bands are artless and laughable. Your scene is composed of antisocial misfits, pretentious stoners, and moronic sociopaths. You look ridiculous to the outside world, your supposed angst and darkness and brutality are downright comedic, and you are walking punchlines for those of us with standards. Get a life, nerds.

General Comment:Its nice how they got two stories into one. Both about them as a band, and as some kinds of bandits (or something like that) that sticks together to fight together. "One we were scum of the Earth | Now we've cleared our names | In Nifelheim came rebirth"
Nifelheim was were you came if you didn't die in an honorable battle, or something along the lines of that.

General Comment:Good song. Not sure what it's about though...

It sounds like an army that's been beaten or something.

General Comment:I agree with The Opressed1 about "One we were scum of the Earth."

Also, "Baptized in Mount Doom's flames" grants sense to both. Since Amon Amarth means Mount Doom.

General Comment:I think this song is about Amon Amarth as a band because "once we were scum of the earth", and these guys were originally called scum.

General Comment:"Grotesque creatues of the sky" could be Morbid Angel, since A.A.s site says they played together around xmas

General Comment:i think its about the band and what they have been through.
"A decade now we've fought this war" refers to the band excisting 10 years when they recorded vs the world.
and battles refering to gigs the played.
"Warriors of the grave" and "Grotesque creatues of the sky" must refer to touring partners, though i don't know which bands.
