    General Comment:My assumption was that it was about some man 'stalking', in a way, some little girl. Like he carried around her picture in his jacket.
    Or maybe the man is obsessed with the little girl's mother, who is single.

    General Comment:...most xiu xiu songs are based on real people that either are xiu xiu band members, friends, or people they know, not just fictional characters or anything like that, but i guess it could be somebody's dad that he knows of

    General Comment:I think it's the whole idea of the hypocritical suburban father who truly has no love for his child, but lives under the facade that he actually cares for her [asking about his daughter's health, the picture of her in his coat] because he doesn't know how else to act - society has dictated this image of fathers for him to live through.

    General Comment:i'm not sure what this song is supposed to be about...but i feel like its about a man who is playing with his daughter, and since she is still innocent in her childhood, she doesnt understand that although they are laughing together and having a good time, he isnt such a great dad. he pretends to call up his daughters teacher in front of her, just so he looks like a good parent, and so she thinks he is involved. although they dont always get along, he carries a picture of her inside his jacket. now im not sure about this part, but i think that since anne doesnt recognize the person in the picture as herself, it may be a picture of someone that he sees her as, maybe someone he wants her to be? she doesnt care, and regardless of his feelings, doesnt want to spend time with him anymore..and he knows that, and feels indifferent about it.
