Lyrics for Not Now as interpreted by strungagnstthric

Not Now Lyrics
Come here, please hold my hand for now
Help me, I'm scared please show me how to fight this,
God has a master plan
And I guess
I am in his demand
Please save me this time I cannot run
And I'll see you when this is done
And now I have come to realize
That you are the one who's left behind

Please stay until I'm gone
I'm here hold on to me I'm right here
Waiting

I see, a light it feels good
And I'll come back soon just like you would
It's useless, my name has made the list
And I wish, I gave you one last kiss

Please stay until I'm gone
I'm here hold on to me I'm right here
Waiting and take
My one last breath, and don't forget
That I will be right here
Waiting

Please stay until I'm gone
I'm here hold on to me I'm right here
Waiting and take
My one last breath, and don't forget
That I will be right here
Waiting

This song is about death. A person is dying, and is facing it. There's some underlying meaning having to do with faith, and acepting God's plan. And its about being with the one you love till your final moments. Beautiful song

I've got the UK version of the recent self-titled Blink 182 album so i was lucky enough to get it on it as a bonus track, as well as a live version of Anthem Part 2 :P
Great song though, one of my favourite.

I really wish I had the European version of their new untitled album... But I downloaded this song and I love it. I still can't understand how they couldn't find a place for it in their new album. Sorry to hear about your ex boyfriend kate_3_6_90... My ex-girlfriend tried to commit suicide once- I'm so glad she made it though. "Not Now" is a song I always related to someone dying from a terminal illness.

Why does the UK get special tracks? they were born in the USA, they started in the USA. What is so great about the UK? And I myself was a little suprised to see God in their lyrics but maybe its something lightly tied in like "oh my god"?

The reason it wasn't on the album: Not 100% on this, but listen carefully to the start. It sounds like I'm Lost Without You (the way it continues on from Here's Your Letter). I think they probably had to choose one of the 2 songs, and decided that Not Now would work better as a bonus track/B-side than ILWY.

Also, if you read the liner notes of some previous albums, they do actually thank God along with their families and friends. Also, some BCR songs talk about God as well.

It's deep. It has an almost Pratchett-style (concerning the death part) feel to it, talking about how 'death will happen to all of us, but I'm still gonna be around. No one who's released as many fuckin albums as I have will go easy. I'm gonna be there for you, babe' while staying in a major key. The words are sad, but the tune isn't really, pushing forward the feeling of happiness beyond sadness.

Love the bonus tracks that we get here. I think it's to do with the copyright laws, or something. Sucks that you can't get it in the US, though.

This is the exact words from the moth of Tom DeLonge when he talks about this song:

"the song is going to be about when you die and you just figured out you died and you're standing there looking at your lady, and she's there. And you're trying to say goodbye but it's too late. And you feel and you know she's right there...but she can't see you, and she doesn't know you're there"

For those who don't know, this was on the UK release of the untitled 2003 Blink-182 album

Not now was recorded in 03 and written late 2002-03, it is about facing death and agreeing and trust in faith of god in the last moments of life....

just to add in about the comment punkjohnnie wrote, "when ave blink been into god", if you have the boxcar racer album Tom and Travis did, you well hear the song Letters To God, which Tom wrote, Tom also wrote most of Not Now (you can see the videos on their site making it), so it's really not blink who's into god, but more like Tom

yes, tom delonge did say that its about dying and youre realizing youre dead and your lady is right there but she cant he or see you and you want to say goodbye, and its obvious there is some influence of his faith with God in there too.....dont deny that....

This song reminds me of somebody who for so long has had problems building up and building up, and e is constanly feeling like e has to help its killing him. i can imagine him lying with his head on a girls lap and hes crying and hes basically just asking her to hold him and stay with him untill he falls asleep. it can be assosciatd with dying also, but thats how i first saw it?!?! im normally wrong but oh well!!
