Lady picture show she hides behind the bedroom door
Lady picture show she hides behind the bedroom wall
She hides because she don't know nothin' don't know nothin' anymore
She keeps a funny face it's locked and bagged it's just outside the door

She doesn't know her name
She doesn't know her face
She doesn't know her name
She doesn't know her face

Lady picture girl I think them boys don't like your show
Lady picture show them boys are gone should just say no
Your wedding present's not so daisy picture perfect anymore
Lady funny face it's locked and bagged it's just outside the door

She doesn't know her name
She doesn't know her face
She doesn't know her name
She doesn't know her face

Let them be

She doesn't know her name
She doesn't know her face

Lady picture show she hides behind the bedroom door
Lady picture show she hides behind the bedroom wall
She hides because she don't know nothin' don't know nothin' anymore
She keeps a funny face it's locked and bagged it's just outside the door

She doesn't know her name
She doesn't know her face
She doesn't know her name
She doesn't know her face

Let them be

General Comment:i always thought this song was about a girl who got raped and how insecure and tramatizing it was for her... hence the line lady picture show she hides behind the bedroom door

possibly when raped you feel as if youve lost your idenity and lose apart of yourself ... she doesnt know her name/face

btw its let them bleed... listen closely

General Comment:I love Robert's bass in this song, it really keeps the whole thing going. I read an interesting comment once about how similar this sounds to the Beatles and how Scott's voice sounds like Paul McCartney's. I think this and "Big Bang Baby" really proved to critics that they were not imitators of the grunge scene as previously thought by some, even though these songs lie more in line with neo-psychedelia. You could say it's "alt-psych". ophelia219's comment hits the spot.

General Comment:One of STP's Best. Still gets play on the radio today

Seems to me Scott Weiland knows a woman who is also struggling with addiction and relating to her pain.
( Possibly his first wife, he was known to be addicted to heroin as well )

Scott Weiland has written such amazing music.
I wish him well and hope he gets lean i wanna hear this guy still making music when hes 60

General Comment:this song is so beautiful... i didnt even know it was Stone Temple Pilots until about a week ago.. i heard it on the radio and looked it up and was shocked because i only know STP songs like Sex Type Thing, Plush, Interstate Love Song, Big Empty and some other hits and the singer sings much differently on this song than the others

but this song has completely gotten me into STP
    My new favorite band =)

General Comment:this song reminds me of this picture of this girl who gotten into a serious car wreck after she was hit by a drunk driver and suffered permanent damage to her face for life that are posted all over the walls of my school to remind people not to drink and drive

to me the song reminds me about the girl like the one who was permanently affected for life by the car wreck

its a sad song... about the insecurities of a woman who lives in shadows and tries to hide from the world

Lady picture show she hides behind the bedroom door
Lady picture show she hides behind the bedroom wall

    - she is horribly disfigured now and embodied in eternal scars on her face... this has caused physcological trauma and deep insecurites and now she is afraid to be in the public due to the events of what has happened to her

She hides because she don't know nothin', don't know nothin' anymore - the personal trauma has taken over her life completely

    She doesn't know her name
    She doesn't know her face

    - shes looking in the mirror feeling sorry for herself... she was innocent in life.. the accident was not even her fault yet she is the one who is suffering and the confusion is too much for her and has thrown her into a deep depression

anyways one of my favorite Stone Temple Pilots song

possibly not the true meaning of the song but hope i offered some decent alternative insight
