Look through me because I am transparent
Ought to know me but why even know yourself
I'm beginning to need all that I can't have
I'm succeeding to speak like I'm fucking mad
Looking at the autumn shade
You are white and I am grey
Looking at the autumn shade, oh yeah
Look through me because I am transparent
Ought to know me but why even know yourself
I'm beginning to need all that I can't have
I'm succeeding to speak like I'm fucking mad
Looking at the autumn shade
You are white and I am grey
Looking at the autumn shade, oh yeah
Ought to know me but why even know yourself
I'm beginning to need all that I can't have
I'm succeeding to speak like I'm fucking mad
Looking at the autumn shade
You are white and I am grey
Looking at the autumn shade, oh yeah
Look through me because I am transparent
Ought to know me but why even know yourself
I'm beginning to need all that I can't have
I'm succeeding to speak like I'm fucking mad
Looking at the autumn shade
You are white and I am grey
Looking at the autumn shade, oh yeah

look through me because i am A transperant.
i dont know me but why even know yourself?
i dont think its about two people at all. i think it has to do with the feeling of fall coming along. everything is beautiful but the cold brings something empty to you. you feel like you need someone but you dont feel like you're even there.
butthats a personal interpretation having to do with how i feel. which is what one should do with a song like this.
I love this song though
Look through me because I am transparent
Ought to know me but why even know yourself
I'm beginning to need all that I can't have
I'm succeeding to speak like I'm fucking mad
I like to think of this in relation to his Asperger's... and the difficulties with social interaction... vaguely. The way you present yourself, the way others see you, and then what you actually KNOW about people or what they know about you, and how this frustration about not really understanding people (and maybe feeling like you need to understand but you just can't?), and ending up saying thengs you don't really mean, or just getting so frustrated you go maaaad.
"you am I, and I am great"
- I like to think of this as being sarcastic.
Very depressing, atthough it makes me feel better when I get depressed. humm....
Look through me because I am a transparent
- You feel as if you're nothing, like eveyone can see through you.
Her to know me but why even know yourself
- People say they know you, but how can they when YOU don't even know who you really are.
I'm beginning to need all that I can't have
- You're wanting things that you think you will never have, maybe it's happiness.
I'm succeeding to speak like I'm fucking mad
- You're saying things that you don't exactly mean, and maybe it sounds as if you're crazy.
I can't really figure out the chorus. I think the "Looking at the autumn shade" part means you're feeling depressed or something like that. I'll get back to you on that. I'll have to study it more, put myself in Craig's place. This is my favorite Vines song....
Rock on, Jazz
You am I and I am Great
Means that in a relationship, they are both great...and they are both as 1.
Craig:
“ This is the first acoustic song on the album and it’s very quiet, very peaceful. It’s calm. It’s not really intentionally linked to Autumn Shade on the first album, but of course in the title, well, you have to think it’s linked somehow. It’s more about the feel of the song than the words, though. It really couldn’t have been called anything else. It’s pretty abstract.”
Patrick:
“ Short. Soft. The harmonies are amazing. No, I didn’t sing them. Craig did. I don’t need to be doing that type of thing in the studio when he’s in there. He seems to have a pretty good handle on singing five different harmonies over himself, something I think is well demonstrated on this track.”
Craig:
“ Thank you, thank you.”
Patrick:
“ You’re welcome.
Instead of ought to know me, he says "Her to know me, but why even know yourself"...
And then, instead of you are white, and I am gray, he says "You am I, and I am great"
Just figured I'd clear it up. it's all in the lyrics booklet.
