  My Interpretation:i understand this song completely... it describes my feelings about someone i was once with perfectly.it's sorta about being on the receiving end of the break up. the whole "you're giving up on me" could either mean that the person was doing something wrong and the person they were with gave up on them or just that the person gave up on their feelings for them.(in my situation i was doing something wrong, i just didn't know it). "i know you've played out everything in your mind" refers to the person conducting the break up having planned out the way that they're going to break up with them. "and when you feel the pain,
  i'm wishing i could stay. how can i say i love you back? you never made me happy." this is the person that was broken up with trying to get himself to stop caring and get over them (i've had these exact same thoughts run through my mind.) "you've laid yourself to sleep. I never said this wouldn't hurt" the person is now single and going through pain from having to break the other person's heart. (i know she felt this way). "you gave up everything. I never said i'd give it back" the person that did the break up gives up their feelings for them and the relationship and moves on, the person who was broken up with can't give up those feelings and can't fully move on (receiving love elsewhere doesn't replace my feelings my feelings for her). "i know you'll never change, I wont be good enough for you" the person that received the break up identifies that the person they miss is never going to change and ignore or help with the problems the receiver had and the receiver decides they aren't good enough to be with the one they still love.(i've learned of the reson she broke up with me and fixed it but i'm pretty sure i'm not gonna get another chance). "i know you'll make it through. i'll never be around to see" the receiver knows that the other person is going to be fine but is sure that they are never going to have even so much as a platonic relationship with them again. (half of the time i try to talk to her to be friends again or at least get closure, she ignores me or barely responds. she has a new boyfriend and, from what i've been told by mutual friends, is happy)
  i never realized how much this song explains how i feel until now.

  My Interpretation:I feel that this song is about a guy in a relationship with a girl but he does drugs or has an emitional disorder like depression. He talks about how things were amazing, they made eachother happy, then came deppression and drugs and he forgot his happiness and she was giving up on him because this new life style is to hard for her and she's getting to hurt.

  General Comment:Just a song about a girl who said shed stay with him no matter what happened, and then things went bad, and she gave up on the relationship, so he was upset at the fact that she broke the promise that she'd stay. =(

  General Comment:i love this song. i def think this song is about a breakup. the writter is reflecting on the relationship and how he misses his ex, yet the more he thinks about it the more he relaizes it wan't that great to begin with

  General Comment:this song is contradicting, and I'm going through the same shit the singer is so I relate well to it
  
  It's contradicting because in the chorus he claims that shes giving up on him, but during the rest of the song he's saying how he's trying to get rid of her. He also apologizes to her about the way he acted.
  
  Basically this song is about the person with an angel and a demon on his shoulder, the demons saying "you're giving up on me" like the situations hopeless, and the angels trying to say "you're better off without her". The song's pessimistic so I feel like he's trying to believe in the upside of things but the bad things still keep dictating his thoughts

  General Comment:I don't see how it's related to God though. Like it could be, but like God doesn't give up on anyone. So that's like one reason I doubt it, and if they were Christian they would love God, and he says "How could I say I love you back."
  But great song. =D

  General Comment:well first off i love this song.. second off.. i can see how people think this song could relate to God... but i dont think that this song was written about him.. i think it is about a guy and a girl who were really good together and later on they weren't as good for each other because one person changed and the other one didn't.. and one wasn't happy and at the end they were together only because thats what they thought would help and all they knew.. and they did like each other and they dont want to hurt each other and at one point had planned on being together the rest of their lives.. but as time changes so do people. and they finally ended it.
