A deep dark secret down at the bottom
But this bay can't keep it unforgotten.
And a story that was told has now grown taller than we'd ever wish to be
Beyond belief
I'll grab the boat if you go grab the anchor,
The tarp and twine and the weights that sank her.
They weren't enough look who showed up
A new light shed is shining through. Illuminating you as we lay
Side by side, dead and broken
Our lives aren't the same since the night yours went stolen.
Blood ran black beneath the moonlight. Your lover's blood ran cold,
Cutting off the hands he used to hold.
A deep dark secret down at the bottom
But this bay can't keep it unforgotten.
And a story that was told has now grown taller than we'd ever want to be
Beyond Belief.
Side by side, dead and broken
Our Hearts aren't the same since the night yours went stolen.
Blood ran black beneath the moonlight. Your lover's blood ran cold,
Cutting off the hands he used to hold.
We used to hold.
But this bay can't keep it unforgotten.
And a story that was told has now grown taller than we'd ever wish to be
Beyond belief
I'll grab the boat if you go grab the anchor,
The tarp and twine and the weights that sank her.
They weren't enough look who showed up
A new light shed is shining through. Illuminating you as we lay
Side by side, dead and broken

Blood ran black beneath the moonlight. Your lover's blood ran cold,
Cutting off the hands he used to hold.

Side by side, dead and broken
Our Hearts aren't the same since the night yours went stolen.
Blood ran black beneath the moonlight. Your lover's blood ran cold,
Cutting off the hands he used to hold.
We used to hold.

I dunno it seemed like Lacy was pretty recent and I thought that split was around forever... judging how matt's voice isn't fucked up yet. I guess that makes sense too cause Sadie is about a real person too.
I think the song isn't supposed to be a story, they use symbolism a lot, sort of like their lyrics are sophisticated. It's a story at face value but if you sit back and think about it, it prolly means more. I read a quote some where where matt skiba said that people think tons of their songs are just about girls and break ups, but they're much deeper. I don't really feel like picking this one apart though.
