Ok everyone, i litterally saw lamb of god live 2 fuckin days ago. this was the last song they did, randy said "Tip your bartender! this is the ultimate fucking drinking song 11th hour" and then they started playing this song it was awesome. They are so fucking wicked live

there are 3 meanings.. either about the end of the world or about his girlfriend (Randy Blythe is supposed to get married this summer so maybe it's about his wife (his sweet demoness)) or maybe it's about the end of the world and his sweet demoness takes him away from it all meaning when he's having a shitty day, she's there to take it away.. aww how fucking sweet!!

It's mostly about alcoholism. The two times I saw them he introduced the song with, "Tip your bartenders, this is 11th Hour" or "Cheers motherfuckers this is 11ths Hour."

It also makes sense for it to be about alcohol seeing that Randy is borderline alcoholic. Great song.

I think Lamb of God is metalcore though, definitely. The thing is, "metalcore" is the worst name for a genre ever since the bands all sound very different. It's just taking hardcore and mixing it with any other variant(s) of metal. LoG definitely has hardcore influences but they fuse it with lots of harsh death and thrash. Whereas a band like Shadows Fall blends hardcore with melo-death and hard rock. Who cares about genres anyway...as long as the music rocks.

HOLY FUCK. you people are so stupid. ITS ABOUT ALCOHOL. the song is about substance abuse. particularly alcohol. and those of you arguing about the genre, chris adler said himself (For those of you who are not true fans of the band, he's the drummer...and look into it) he said himself they're thrash metal but they like to push the limits of thrash metal...and in my opinion they're thrash metal with a death metal twist. its a good combo. metalcore is a stupid word and its not even a fucking genre. too many subgenres. its just metal, man, and it rocks. and ITS ABOUT ALCOHOl. for the idiot who thought it was about the iraq war you couldnnt be more fucking wrong. for those of you who thought it was about his fiance, FUCKING WRONG. they're all alcoholics. chris adler again, eh said 'black label beer and keresone fumes were definately waht fuled our early days'. they have a song named after beer for fucks sake. they get drunk all the time, especially randy. ITS ABOUT ALCOHOL and the viscious cycle it can put you into. heroin? close but no cigar, since that would make sense but none of them DO heroin. but they drink! seriously. that is dead on. the aclohol theory.

Slipingknot, I think it's safe to say any kind of substance abuse is depressing.

As a couple of guys here have pointed out, Randy said it was about alcohol. If anyone can find the word 'war' in "This song is about alcohol abuse" I will chop off my own penis and eat it while being recorded.

i see how one can mistake the song with heroin addiction...i mean, there is a part in the song "Slips a ring of needles around your arm" , but this could just mean a sort of bind and not necessarily literal in meaning. but there is a part in the song "Destroyer of senses." and "Jacked up on the taste of self-destruction."...and i think particularly in consideration of the latter, i'd say this song is definitly about drinking.

My meaning of this song is about getting drunk all day long,I mean from wake up to black out,I have done this before,I dont think its about heroine the lyrics"spin the bottle,kiss only the bottle" I think clearly reference this song as alcohol related,"take me under your back wings"could be refering to that shit-faced feeling,but who the fuck knows?

If anyone bought the killidelphia cd, right before 11th hour randy say "This is a drinking song, cheers motherfuckers" although i first thought it meant just a good song to drink to, it actually refrences alcohol throughout the song

the song BY ITSELF itself is simply about drinking and getting DRUNK. sweet demoness = alcohol.

the VIDEO of 11th Hour, however, is about both getting drunk AND the IRAQ WAR, with all of the DESTRUCTION, PAIN and DEATH that the war brings.

You could make your own video if you wish, that does not exactly follow the LYRICS, but would having meaning if played with the song, 11th Hour.

the song fucking ROCKS, as does the VIDEO.

GRRR! I was listening to this song, and I was all like "oh shit, check it out, he said 'a liquid embrace to chase the day away', I think this song is about alcholol."

But then my freind was like "no man, I saw the music video, its about war." and my other freind was like "its about destruction."

So I was like "spin the bottle kiss only the bottle? when he says, 'take me under your black wings', he is talking about getting wasted."

And then they where like "he never said that. what do black wings have to do with alchohal? go watch the music video."

so then I got all riled up and I hit em back with a "your mom has a penis"

if you read that whole thing I feel sorry for you.
