You're the prince to my ballerina
You'll feed all the people's parking meters
You encourage the eating of ice cream
And you would somersault in sand with me

You talk to loners
You ask 'how's your week?'
You give love to all
And give love to me
You're obsessed with hiding
The sticks and stones
And feel the unknown
You feel like home
You feel like home

You put my feet back on the ground
Oh, did you know you brought me home
Yeah, you were sweet and you were sound
Can you save me

You're the wars in my summer's breeze
You're the ivories in my ebony key
You would share your last jelly bean
And you would somersault in sand with me

You put my feet back on the ground
Oh, did you know you brought me home
Yeah, you were sweet and you were sound
You save me

You put my feet (back on the ground)
Oh, did you know you brought me (home)
Yeah you were sweet and you were (sound)
See I have tried
You still bring me around 'n around 'n around

'n around 'n around 'n around
Yeah yeah oh oh
You brought me around
Yeah yeah oh oh

General Comment:Sia wrote this song about a Scottish ex-boyfriend of hers. They had just been together for a few weeks and he spontaneously decided to visit her in Australia. And the song was the result of that time while they were newly in love. Considering that they have broken up a long time ago I find this song a bit sad, imagine someone writes a song like this about you, breaks up with you, but you then keep on hearing this song on the radio or randomly in a coffee shop.

General Comment:@ Thunderbolt: to me "You encourage the eating of ice cream" means that he doesn't care if she puts on a few pounds, hence doesn't care about looks but is more interested in making the other person happy.

Actually, it's my favorite line in the song, even though I'm not that big of an ice cream fan.

General Comment:What on earth does the encouraging of ice cream have to do with anything? That doesn't seem that special.

General Comment:Beautiful song and lyrics. She's talking about a man who is not just great because she loves him, but someone who is great because he loves life. The thing that makes it extra bittersweet special is the alternating tense. Half the time, she speaks of him in the knowing present tense, but the sense you have from the whole song is that this is someone who she was close to and who saved her, in the past.
