The A-I-D-S part is so catchy actually, I catch myself singing it, which I'd imagine is rather intentional.
This song is really great.

About a young person dying of aids. The person will never get a chance to enjoy the pleasures of life because aids is killing them at suck a young age. The person just wants to die and get it over with.

This song is special to me because someone I loved is now dying of AIDS. I love the way he sings, it elicits a whole range of emotion.

The original version of this song (by Jamie's band IBOPA) is...amusing. The music is energetic and the chorus is shouted out in a way completely different to the way this song works.

i've seen the same info on the message board i think.
this song is beautiful, as are all xiu xiu songs. even though the lyrics are so simple there's so much emotion there.

this song, from what i understand, is about a patient at an AIDS clinic in california which jamie once worked at. jamie befriended the patient and wrote this song about him. as far as i know jamie does not have AIDS himself. if i remember correctly this info is second-hand from jamie (that is, i heard it from a friend of jamie)
