Could be the Devil's point of view also, or maybe even a verse from god and a verse from the devil..I do think that it's definitely about religion though...mainly because the title, like someone already said, basically means "to make something less important by making it more than it should be" ...
but what i dont understand is why it is named "desecrate through reverance" any help?

so basicly the title is saying: violate there sacredness through great respect
