Lyrics for I Won't See You Tonight, Pt. 2 as interpreted by Thienskater

I Won't See You Tonight, Pt. 2 Lyrics
Come back to me, this is unconceivable
Breaking apart the ones you love
Hate runs deep for what you've done to us
Left alone through suicide...suicide

I just want to die, take away my life
lay by your side, please:.

Look at my face you pierce with a blank stare
No dream could prepare a heart for a lifeless friend.
He's gone. Nothing will take back time.
I need him back, but nothing will take back time.
(take back time)

I can see just fine, you in my life,
there by my side as it starts to fade
I know this can't be right, stuck in a dream
a nightmare full of sorrow
Nightmare - full of pain

I look back and see the twisted road
Best friends and despair took its toll
Take away

You can't be replaced
I'm left alone with you
in spirit and the words
you wrote to me

Sorrow, sank deep inside my blood
all the ones around me, I cared for
and most of all I loved
but I can't see myself that way
please don't forget me
or cry while I'm away

I think it is about trying to deal with the loss of a friend who took his life.

This song is actually a follow up to "I wont see you tonight pt.1" where another person, a friend possibly, wrote a suicide note. This is his feelings back to his friend.

I don't think you really songs about suicide from the prospective of someone that has had to watch their friend leave thier life... its makes part1 even more amazing

Yea mo money got it right. Right before "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" was released A7X's former bassist Justin Sane (not the Anit-Flag singer) attempted suicide by drinking bottles of cough syrup. This song is M Shadows's response to Justin's suicide note. Even thoughtJustin didnt die he fried his brain almost completely. Justin is the one playing bass on STST but they replaced him with Dameon Ash and not too long after that they replaced Dameon with Johnny Christ.
This is one of my favorite songs by Avenged. Its all amazing.

I prefer Part one, but overall amazing series of songs. It would definately be tough for M. Shadows or anyone to have a friend go through this. Crazy stuff.

Song's cool, not nearly as good as part one though. Solo's pretty wanky. Still a good song, just not the best way to follow up Pt. 1.

mo money and a7x1234 don't know what they are talkinga bout. Maybe they should get their facts straight. Shadows did not find justin. He didn't od on the cough syrup, and his fucking brain is not fried.

The Facts:
One day (out of quite a few) he was tripping out on dxm (he drank the syrup to achieve this) and his g/f woke him up. He has bi polar disorder, so he had a psychotic break from reality, and spent some time in a institution. this was BEFORE recording STST. He actually went so far as to go to texas to tour with the band, but he and shadows had a fight and he went back to cali. BECAUSE HE HAD MORE IMPORTANT THINGS IN HIS LIFE! HE HAS A 5 YEAR OLD KID.

After finding this out, I started to really dislike the band. They obviously know the truth, but yet they spout this whole bullshit story on him attemping suicide to give them a better front of the take action tour and shit.

I'm not trying to be a know it all prick, but some people are just so fucking gullible. And it pisses me off when the go around sprouting wrong info to others.

God, I hate when i don't fully explain stuff...

... Anyway, there was no suicide note. Justin left the band in mid-august 2001. They got dameon in late august 2001. Johnny joined in december 2002.

... i think that's all.

but guys you have to remember that this is peoples interpretations, whether or not its true.

anyway, my repsonse. I must admit, it was part I that got me heavily into Avenged, i definitely played it more than part 2 but, saying that, part 2, i love. I cant listen to the first part without the second. No chance.

It really is beautiful. I like how the first part blends in together with the second part!

In order to understand this song, you need to listen to
"I Won't See You Tonight: Pt.1"
This song is a follow up from "I Won't See You Tonight: Pt.1"

This song is about M. Shadows and how he feels about his friends suicide attempt. Justin Sane (bass) who is a former band member.

just so you know forbiddenbeat is a fucking idiotand if you read th Take action tour magazine ( 2003)(don't ask me where ur gonna find one cause i don't know) there is an interview w/ M. Shadows on pg 12. And forbiddenbeat seems to think that A7X has created this hugh conspiracy about Justin Sane trying to commit suicide so they could 'sound cooler when they went on take action tour'. So, pretty much he's a crackpot and shouldn't be taken seriously and he doesn't even like a7x anyways so....

The approach to this was a lot like Pantera's Suicide Note part 1 and 2, slower ballad followed by a powerful, heavier song.

adventFLUX has a great point...one can't help but notice the similarities between the "I won't see you tonight" songs and Pantera's "Suicide Note" songs. Not sure whether or not there is any reality behind A7X's, but they are huge fans of Pantera (check out their cover of "Walk" on Kerrang!'s anniversary album)

This si definitely the reactions of losing a friend to suicide. I've lost a couple good friends also. One, actually was to suicide. It just doesn't seem right when you think about it. Why would someone take their own life...I think, selfishness is a factor in that. This song shows how suicide can affect everyone that loved you and cared about you, after you are gone. Some people feel the way this song explains. After losing such a good friend, you just don't want to live anymore. But me, myself, I feel that I have to live on and carry their legacy...suicide...the worst way to die...
