Buddy has gotten really dark with his lyrics on the upcoming CD, with this song being a great example. Great guitar riffs along with kick ass vocals, but what a dark message, if you read the lyrics it should be pretty self-explanatory...

Cant get this song un-stuck from my mind. I just went to their concert a few days ago in chicago and it rocked. He sung his brains out and he felt sick, hehe.. Hes pretty damn good if ya ask me. Anyways....this song is crazy. Did he write from experience? *shrug* Its a good song though, kinda creepy after a while, but awesome anyways.

damn, this song should be heavier. it's got a catchy sound. but with what the song reveals, shoould be some screaming and deeper basses.

Maybe the dead body is a metaphor. I interpret it as a girl who is "dead" emotionally to Buddy. She has her reasons why she fell out of love, others have theirs, and he wants the truth since he smells "foul play." ....Just a thought.

First of all, I'd like to say that the new CD is gonna be awesome...It supposedly comes out in a few days, on May 11th... EVERYONE get it... Anyways this song must be a metaphor...If it isn't then it's pretty dark... but the part about her 'death' (falling out of love with him, dead emotionally) not being a suicide but a homicide means that although she claims she just fell out of love by herself, there was another party involved. The 'foulplay' is probaly her and another guy. He says he has a witness, probably someone who saw or knows about it....Just a thought

I have something to add. I think that when he says the whole thing about "we've got to hurry up before the flesh decays away..." it has to do with trying to save the relationship and the only way that it can be saved is if they start working on it right away and trying hard to fix what is wrong with it.

i personally think its about what the lyrics say,his girlfriend or friend has 'killed herself', but infact shes been murdered so he has to dig up her body to prove it.i dont why you would think he killed her cause why would he be telling the police someone murdered her and digging up her body?
anyways i just think you dont really need to over analyse this song cause the lyrics are all there,its pretty self explanatory what the songs about.
thats why its called buried alie cause shes been buried with people thinking she commited suicide.

im not exactly sure how to take this song. i hope this really didn't happen, but it very well could of, i mean buddy seems to have a pretty fucked up life. this song could very well just be a metaphore for something, not really sure. anyway, this is my favorite song on the new cd....i have the whole cd even though it hasnt come out yet...DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THE CD IS OFFICIALLY RELEASED???

i love this band so thats that song kicks ass cant wait to get the album i think its about well ovoiusly about a death that was the way they interpeted it to be. powerful to a point. makes you think.

I like the Senses Fail sound for the most song, but they have to be the most like morbid emo band ever, I got both their cds, and then almost regretted it each time, like every song they've ever made I swear talks about death in it, and I also don't like how much they say the 'f' word on the new cd, but anyway, I like this song and some others on the new cd, but I just wish they would write songs about something other than death

Running On Empty are you some kind of overprotective mother? Seriously "I don't like how much they say the 'f' word on the new cd". Come on lighten up a little and if this music offends you go listen to Ashlee Simpson or something.

Anyway, the song is pretty good, catchy stuff. What I don't like about it is that there just doesn't seem to be any underlying meaning under the lyrics. Usually in songs with metaphors they can hint at what its actually about. For all we know this could really just be about performing an autopsy or something. This should be the song Grissom and Horatio sing while they map out crime scenes. There probably is a meaning behind it but its not given in any type of fashion in which it can be figured out, so its all just guessing.

hey ashlee simpson isnt that bad....right??...haha only joking. Senses fail is awesome. Especially in concert. I saw them open for the starting line last year in dallas. It was a killer show. I agree they are morbid, but thats what makes them so good. WHo else could pull of a song like free falling without a parachute.

...These lyrics aren't dark...at all..really.
You want dark lyrics, listen to gore metal.
And Senses Fail isn't emo.

This song's horrible...but it's really catchy.
Buddy is the worst vocalist ever.
