I worry, I weigh three times my body
I worry, I throw my fear around
But this morning
There's a calm I can't explain
The rock candy's melted, only diamonds now remain, oh

By the time I recognize this moment
This moment will be gone
But I will bend the light pretending
That it somehow lingered on, well I got is oh

And I will wait to find
If this will last forever
And I will wait to find
If this will last forever
And I will pay no mind
When it won't and it won't because it can't
It just can't (It's not supposed to)

Was there a second of time I looked around?
Did I sail through or drop my anchor down?
Was anything enough to kiss the ground
And say I'm here now?
And she is here now, oh

So much wasted in the afternoon
So much sacred in the month of June
How 'bout you?

And I will wait to find
If this will last forever (yeah)
And I will wait to find
That it wont, and it won't and it won't
And I will pay no mind
Worried 'bout no rainy weather (yeah)
And I will waste no time
Remaining in our lives together

General Comment:I think the song talks about how a moments clarity can make you soldier on for a long time even when you're under intense pressure, while lying to yourself that the clarity has stuck with you all along the way... Until you realize that it didn't

General Comment:is it possible that this song is him realizing that his clarity is that his life meant nothing because in the music video he is surrounded by happy things but he looks so sad and at the end he walks into the ocean and i got the feeling in the video that he was killing himself.

General Comment:So what the song is about...

Everyone has moments in there lives where everything feels perfect... Everything is just how it should be. Your problems have never felt so far away, because for that moment in time, what you are doing, where you are, who you are sharing that moment with, it all feels perfect...

A lot of people may find these moment with others... They might feel this way after they finally kiss the person they have wanted to for such a long time... or they have just met the person of their dreams and somehow managed to sneak off and spend time together... and in those moments, a lot of people try to turn it into more than what it really is and was... Simply a beautiful moment. So people try to hold onto that moment by getting into a relationship ect ect...

And what John is saying is that sometimes rather than trying to make a moment last... You should just be in the moment... And when it's passed, don't try and hold onto it for dear life... let it pass because you enjoyed it while it was there.

"And I will wait to find if this will last forever
And I will wait to find that it won't and it won't it won't
And I will pay no mind, worry about the waiting weather
And I will waste no time remaining in our life together "

He is saying he knows the moment wont last because time is perpetual. And at the same time he is not worrying about the future either "the waiting weather" because he just wants to enjoy where he is right now. :)

So the moral: Enjoy each moment while it's happening. Don't worry about the future... Enjoy now :)

General Comment:a song that will last a lifetime's worth of listenship, heard it on "classic" radio today and then it kinda came to me that the next generation will be in for a treat if this is the next generation of "classical music" and expatriate those old-man respected-only-in-name types.

General Comment:Whenever I hear this song I am reminded and transported to the video where he drives through a road with a view of the sunset. And for that few minutes I get that bliss he is talking about. I don't even worry about the lyrics that much - just the melody and the "oooh... oooh..."

General Comment:First off, John has confirmed that "So much wasted in the afternoon, so much sacred in the month of June" doesn't mean anything at all and he regrets that. It was time restraints that made him throw that in to fill the void. However, here is my take on the rest of the song. Obviously Clarity means..clarity. I think there are 2 themes running through this. Clarity on life in general..realizations and appreciation. For this one moment, his fears are gone and he's weightless. But he knows it cannot last forever because troubles are going to come and go again. Actually, I think this song links up to Bigger Than My Body :) Someone earlier asked about this verse, "Is there a second in time that I looked around. Did I sail through or drop my anchor down?". I think this is just saying the same thing as the old saying "stop and smell the roses". Did he just sail through or did he drop his anchor down to appreciate the view for a while? Obviously towards the end he ties in a relationship. Kinda the same deal..just being carefree/fearfree in the relationship. Not worrying about the "rainy weather" that will inevitably come. Just enjoying it for what it is! Remaining in their life together and not exactly worrying if it's forever or not. Great song as all John's songs are. He is truly poetic <3

General Comment:I think it's about a summer love, of which he's been thinking too much about whether it will last or not. The moment of clarity is about him realizing that he should just enjoy it. Sometimes relationships aren't meant to last but they still teach us valuable things about ourselves and life in general. "He is here now, she is here now" -- enjoy the now, don't worry about the future.

General Comment:I love this song.Literally reminds me of my highschool years when everything was carefree and we were a lil bit careless on decisions we made.Amidst those tough times, there still was a period of happiness and joy we all want to come back in.
