the song is about a boy and a girl, who are going out. the guy asked the girl out, and she said yes but she didnt really mean it, and he's saying, look, you're with me, 'you did this'. and he wants to kiss her, to take things further, but she doesnt like him like that. and they both know that, so its awkward. and he's crazy about her, but he knows its the end, and that makes him sad.

I feel like this is her breaking up with him ("this can't be the end"). And he's still in love with her, he just wishes she could see how much he does. And when he tries to show her how he feels he can see it in her eyes that she doesn't feel that way anymore. & he's in this state where he's really upset (down) and she's the only thing that can fix it.

Such a good song! There's so many ways to interpret it.

This song is definitely about an "almost" break up. The couple is in a fight and on the verge of splitting but he's trying to do whatever he can to hold on "I'll try to kiss you if you let me."

This song is amazing, one of blinks best if you ask me.

This song is starting to mean more and more to me everyday because just recently my girlfriend and i broke up. It wasn't for another girl, but after we broke up this girl comes into my life, and I'm starting to like her more and more. I don't think she has the same feelings. The beginning means the most because i'm like going through those exact things with her and it sucks

This song is SOOO good. I love blink 182. I mean I have always liked them, but my boyfriend really got me into them. And right now things arent so great with us. And this song is helping me get through it while having him in mind. I LOVE THIS SONG

i think this song is about a girl and a guy who were dating and then they broke up and now its reallyu akward for them because they really havnt stopped loving eachother. and he doesnt want it to be the end. so, they are just hanging out and he cant stop thinking about how much he wants her.

I love this song and it's been in my head for weeks, its amazing, its getting me through some shit at the moment.

I think it's about this guy who's in love with a girl, and shes breaking up with him, messing him around, or he thinks she is going to break up with him, because it says "this can't be the end". Its hiting him like a tidal wave and he can't cope possibly because theres other stuff going on in his life and he thinks he's letting her down and it's getting to him because he doesn't want to lose her

sounds to me like the guy wants the girl but has no idea what shes thinking or what she thinks of him. hes just confused. he wants to kiss her or hold her hand or something but he doesn't want to try because hes afraid that she wouldn't want it and that would hurt. sounds like he hurts anyway because he doesn't know what to do.

i honestly think it is about a guy and girl, but i think something came between them. maybe a fight, maybe just a misunderstanding, but the two are fighting. they're both upset, and maybe he's more upset than she realizes, hence why he needs her so bad. (maybe she was moral support perhaps?) but he's hurt, and they're not talking, and he wants their relationship to be the same. and "the look in your eyes" may mean that he knows she still cares, but she won't say anything. and the silence, he wants to break it, talk to her again - regain their once standing relationship. and the "you did this," i can't help but think she initiated the argument, caused them both the pain.

maybe it's about a friendship more than a "relationship"

I think this song is about a relationship breaking up from the line "this can't be the end."
The drops of rain are symbolism for crying and the vows of silence is her refusing to talk to him. However he sees the look in her eyes that makes him crazy because he knows that deep down she still loves him and that is why he is saying, "I'll take you over if you let me" because he knows if she let him back into her life he would be able to get their relationship back to how it used to be.

"This can't be the end".. i dont want what i have with someone to end. though, it kind of already has. see.. we were only going out for maybe three and a half months total, but we've been good friends for a year and half before being in a relationship. right now we're not together, we both have someone.. but we still talk about the past and how we miss eachother. and we still love eachother. we dont consider ourself just friends. we don't do anything with eachother (though in the past he's cheated on someone, my ex best friend, with me).

I think its about a relationship that is ending, or one that has already ended and he isnt really sure where she stands, he would try to kiss her but he doesnt know how she will react. she seems in control of the situation.

and i think hes saying to himself "this can't be the end" ..he doesnt want to believe it is.. i guess.

So you went from "blink 182 at one of its lowest points" to "I actually do like this song". Does that make sense?

Emo (and any other genre for that matter) are completely useless nowadays. No one uses any term correctly.
