  General Comment:I actually love this song, only heard it recently but it so emotional and connects with so many peoples thoughts of literally being lost without someone, a feeling most people have felt at one point.

  General Comment:This has to be one of the best songs i've ever heard , it's just so beautiful with the lyrics and the way the song is composed . it gives me the chills just listening to it .
  
  Blink should've stayed together , they were beginning to mature into an amazing band , now Tom's off with Angels and Airwaves who i find not that good except a few songs (Breathe is another song i love however) and Mark and Travis are with +44 who i find good , but are nowhere near the standard of Blink-182 .
  
  I find it fitting how this was the closing song on the last album , even if the break up didnt look like happening then , although we never know ...

  General Comment:this song is exactly how i feel. i think its about a friend though. like obviously a friend youre in love with...and you want them and you know they want you but for some reason you arent together. and this song is telling them that it doesnt matter abuot the mess youre in, you just need them and love them. "i will go down as your lover, your friend" that line is admitting you want everything. this completely sums up my life...im in love with my best friend and we pretend were dating something...like we hookup and cuddle and hold hands and all that jazz..but he has a long distance gf who he hates. but its like were too scared to lose each other. i literally could cry at the thought of not being with him. its so weird. ive never loved someone so much.

  he might have had to live without her before,
  and of course hewas lost without her. he is saying
  that he can go on forever again because he 'kmows' she will turn up again like now. he wants her to assure him that one bad day out of forever will end.

  he is saying that when he dies he will know that
  he loves only her and he is letting her know that
  an he also is lettign her know that he is her friend
  so she will know that she always had someone there
  for her and he will be her gaurdian angel if he passes.

  is basically saying that she can come to him
  wherever he is at anytime if she needs him and
  if she needs to call, he'll answer the call, he'll
  always be around, etc.
  
  
  "I'll keep my eyes patiently focused on you"
  meaning that he wont give up on her
  and even if she has moved on he will
  make sure she isnt treated badly or is hurt in any way. again, gaurdian angel-like.
  "And if you will, keep me from waking to believe this"
  he wants her to assure him that she isnt walking
  away from him, deserting him, referring to the line,
  "Where are you now I can hear footsteps I'm dreaming"
