mmm...this song is awesome, the best on this album...I would hazard a guess as to what this song COULD be about, but I won't as that hazard seems to dangerous and weird...anyways, a BOY called harry, who everybody called HOLLY was real angry coz people kept callin him HOLLY instead of HARRY because he had long hair and they were all nasty chavs who didnt care and stunk of chavy crap...SOooooooooooooooooooooo he went mad and started wetting his pants a lot...THEN...one day, he didnt wet his pants and everyone was singing"HOLLY'S LOOKIN DRY"...so he got a gun out and started shootin people...on monday...also the origin and infleunce of the song "I dont like mondays" thank you

wooooo i love this song. I can kind of relate. I'm an unpoplar kid at my school. I'm sort of a skate punk person. Well we had this big dance at our school and this really popluar guy asked me to go with him. Well I get to the dance just to see him making out with another girl and laughing it up in my face.
enough about my shit. anyways, this song is great. no ifs ands wats or buts about it my friends.

the book pretty much sums it up:\
an evil trendy (prep) invites a loser to her house and sprays him with the hose just to be evil

kinda sad when you think about it, a loser that finally thinks hes about to become popular ends up getting humiliated...

Well this song has so much energy I reckon it can be read into in lots of different ways, that's part of the beauty I reckon, but anyway.

Loads of people have said it, but for reference, especialy that anill42, this is precisely what was written in the booklet for the album next to the lyrics for this song:

Tom: "A friend of ours told us a story of when he was young, and got asked to go to the prettiest girl in high schools house. He rode his bike as fast as he could to get there, and she and her friend jumped out of the balcony and sprayed him with a hose. He rode home wet, sad and humiliated."

And that makes sense. But it could so totally have more meanings. Music generally does, doesn't it?

I love this song. I have a couple of theories about what it means to them, but to me its about a girl who has gone wild, and her emotions are making her lose her sense of right and wrong, and she tears apart anyone she can, and he (or whoever) knows that if he lets her she'll rip into him, but he shows her his throat anyway.

this song reminds me of the way i treated a boy a few years ago- i was like Holly 'dry and looking for an easy target'. it was so sick of me to do that and i'm glad i've changed so il never go hunting for an easy target again! love this song! maybe not blink's best but still a good one!

I started listening to that ablum on the summer of 2004 when I was 13 and I loved this girl named Marie-Noelle and back then, I had a dream that she would call me.. which was totally unbelievable to me cuz shes a fking tard prep and I dreamed shed call me and ask me to go to her place and then when Id get there her and her friends would spray me with a hose... the scariest shit is that about a week later... It happened!!!... she fking called me and I went to her place and I should listened to my dream because.. I got hoaxed... I didnt even know this is what this song was about... total freaky ahaha
