Lyrics for Easy Target as interpreted by BrandNew1208

Easy Target Lyrics
All her signals are getting lost in the ether (That’s what she wanted)
She's a landslide with a city beneath her (That’s what she wanted)
So take a good look, so you'll never forget it (That's what she wanted)
Take a deep breath, I know I'm gonna regret it (That's what she wanted)

Holly's looking dry looking for an easy target
Let her slit my throat give her ammo if she'll use it
Caution on the road lies lies and hidden danger.
Southern California's breeding mommy's little monster.

She's got a mission, and I'm collateral damage. (That's what she wanted)
She's the flower that you place on my casket. (That's what she wanted)
Savor the moment cause the memory's fleeting.
Take a photograph, as the last train is leaving.

Holly's looking dry looking for an easy target
Let her slit my throat give her ammo if she'll use it
Caution on the road lies lies and hidden danger.
Southern California's breeding mommy's little monster.

Better run, run, run, run, run (Holly let me out)
Better run, run, run, run, run (Holly let me out)
Better run, run, run, run, run (Holly let me out)
Better run, run, run, run, run, run, run (Holly let me out)

yeah omg lolz... kekekeke...
I'm glad you posted the great meaning of the song.

This song is about a popular chick inviting this not so popular kid to her house after school, so he got home left straight away and pedaled as hard as he could to get to her house, only for her to jump out of the bush and squirt him with the hose...

this song is about Jerry Finn, and when he was a kid he really liked the girl called Holly. And one day she called him over to her house. So he got on his bike, and rode as fast as he could and when he got to Holly's house she & her friend jumped up and soaked him with a hose.

He was dissapointed and sad, so he rode home cold, wet, lonely and dissapointed.

Holly's looking dry, looking for an easy target means she hasn't splashed anyone with a hose, and the ammo means the hose, caution on the rode means Jerry should be cautious when riding, and he's also the Easy target. And Holly, well she's just a little monster

I love the liner notes. They don't even mention the song. They just bluntly state the inspiration, which makes complete sense when you hear the lyrics.

I find myself screaming along with Mark's part: "That's what she wanted!" after every single line in the verses. Excellent tune, with an excellent transition into 'All of This' which uses the same chord structure but slowed way down. When you think about how the plots of both songs are related, that's a genius move. 'Easy Target' is the frustration over the girl. 'All of This' is somewhere in the aftermath.

I'm telling you, don't sell this album short...

i dont know the lyrics still confuse me, even after that... uhhh... very descriptive explanation, hotzappa11. but i love the beat! it makes you feel the tension that an artist feels when he gets a freaky inspiration for a drama scene!

I LOVE how this song flows, and the drums really set the whole mood. There is nothing to not like about this song once you get used to it ending after the second chorus and having no bridge. I'm like davidecoyote in the sense that I love how 'Easy Target' ends with a perfect transition into 'All of This'. Here's hoping sometime in the future they make a linked video with those two songs, since they are connected in more ways than one, and 'Easy Target' is too short to have its own formal music video.

Actually, I'm sort of set in the fact that this song is about Hollywood (or 'Holly'). It could be about a girl, whatever. 'Holly's looking dry, looking for an easy target' means that Hollywood is looking for more people to make fashion statements or actors, or just whatever. 'Let her slit my throat, give her ammo if she'll use it' is how people get so sucked into fame. And all that... Whatever.
If you take a minute to listen to it in this format, it makes some sense. But then: Does Blink ever really tell the truth about anything? They make up a lot of things... I've noticed that. Anyway. There was my two cents.

The lyrics don't actually do /that/ much for me, but I love the way that the drum carries the whole song along with it, and how the guitar goes along for the ride . . . pretty cool song, on most accounts. Yeah, there's a story behind the words, and the words rhyme and sound nice, but they're not what make this song great.

Did anybody catch the [probably indirect] Social Distortion reference? ("Southern California's breeding mommy's little monster") Someone correct me if I'm wrong but didn't at least one of the two (Mark and Tom) listen to Social D when they were teenagers?

i think this song is about a girl who is obviously not too nice to people. now, she's found an easy target and isn't going to let him go until she gets her full of making him miserable and the dude knows this.

i really like this song!!
