Lyrics for Stockholm Syndrome as interpreted by BrandNew1208

Stockholm Syndrome Lyrics
This is the first (thing I remember)
Now it's the last (thing left on my mind)
Afraid of the dark (do you hear me whisper)
An empty heart (replaced with paranoia)
Where do we go (life's temporary)
After we're gone (like new years resolutions)
Why is this hard (do you recognize me)
I know I'm wrong (but I can't help believing)
I'm so lost
I'm barely here
I wish I could explain myself
But words escape me
It's too late
To save me
You're too late
You're too late

You're cold with disappointment
While I'm drowning in the next room
The last contagious victim of this plague between us
I'm sick with apprehension
I'm crippled from exhaustion
And I dread the moment when you finally come to kill me

This is the first (thing I remember)
Now it's the last (thing left on my mind)
Afraid of the dark (do you hear me whisper)
An empty heart (replaced with paranoia)
Where do we go (life's temporary)
After we're gone (like new years resolutions)
Why is this hard (do you recognize me)
I know I'm wrong (but I can't help believing)

this cd is the best ..im still listening to it ... when they were making the albulm on blink 182.com they had videos of them making the albulm and i heard mark talking about this song he said its about someone whos drowning and cant get out so the lyric that came out of that i guess was the
"You're cold with disappointment
While I'm drowning in the next room "

My favorite song off of their new CD right now. It feels really genuine. I don't know if the spoken sequence that goes on before this song has anything to do with the actual song or not. It's a really cool way to build up to it though. That Mark screaming thing...usually I'd agree with you vonni, but I think he does it well on this one.

Stockholm syndrome is when you are kidnapped or taken hostage and you begin to have feelings for the person taking you hostage. http://www.yahoodi.com/peace/stockholm.html

HOLLA to stacked up! u got it there, it's not about drowning or NEthing else u other fools lied about! it's about a guy that likes a girl and they keep fighting but he just keeps falling for her more and more...hence the name Stockholm Syndrome being used, very basic metaphor there guys

This song rocks, the chorus is my favourite part though. The verses have a lighter aspect, and then the chorus comes back and it sounds darker again. Just a cool song.

and vonni, you are pretty stupid for saying that. You want to talk about being drunk, you need to learn to talk right when your sober you moron. you should not speak of stuff you do not know

PO litical: first off, this album blows their past two out of the water. This album is a new direction for a band who has needed a new direction ever since Enema. BEST song off the album, amazing lyrics and awesome music, not something I was expecting after TOYPAJ.

I love this song, but i need to be in the mood for it i guess. The bit before it really got to me, i first listened to it when i was away from home and all my close friends and boyfriend.
I interpret the first bit (this is the first thing i remember, now it's the last thing left on my mind) as being something that seeps into your life and just becomes everything, and tears you apart and hold you together. That can drive you crazy, and i know what it's like to have something that consuming in your life. It's hard for you to describe things like that to other people when ur in the position.. You just feel so drained and powerless, yet so mad.
Meaningful song.

yay for muse and 21matchsticks - who cares? this is the blink version we're talking about. go be stupid elsewhere fool. anyways im agreeing with dan632 on what this song is about. stockholm syndrome is when a person is held hostage for a long period of time and they are only subject to their captors views and they begin to identify w/ thier captor cuz they feel they have to in order to survive. sometimes after the whole deal is over the people that were held hostage will even defend the people who did it to them...kinda like in this song. this girl has done all this shit to him but he still wants her

heres what it says right out of the booklet - the beginning of this song has letters that my grandfather wrote to my grandmother during world war two. Joanne Whalley fame into the studio and read them. The song itself is about paranoia. Being afriad fo the outside world, convinced that people can hear your thoughts.

So you can't say that thats not what it's about cuz mark said it.

Blondie 9002 is right, obviously you'd know that unless you were illiterate. But isn't it ironic that they start a song about other people finding out what you think and feel by reading out a private letter?
