I could walk this fine line between elation and success
But we all know which way I'm going
So strike the stake between my chest
Well "You have to prove yourself"
You'll have to prove it to me
So now you're waiting up for him
You're wasting time every time
I can't do it by myself
I can't wake up to these reminders of who I am:
A failure at everything
18 going on extinct
I know my place
It's nowhere you should roam
But we all know which way I'm going
So strike the stake between my chest
Well "You have to prove yourself"
You'll have to prove it to me
So now you're waiting up for him
You're wasting time every time
I can't do it by myself
I can't wake up to these reminders of who I am:
A failure at everything
18 going on extinct
I know my place
It's nowhere you should roam

we all know which way i'm going, so strike the stake between my chest."
Elation is when you're like, really happy about something. Success is merely when you've succeeded in something. But, being successful is not the same thing as being happy/elated. Hence, the "fine line between elation and success".
And by "we all know which way I'm going, so strike the stake between my chest", I think he means that since FOB's debut was pretty successful, and they're only going to get more popular (which is what happened), they're going to be "successful" rather than "elated." "So strike the stake between my chest."
I love love love the punk beat.. if you know what I'm sayin'. plus the bass. reminds me of lifetime or something
i can hear it. the beginning, drum beat, gang vocals, violently sung lyrics.
