The sea's evaporating
Though it comes as no surprise
These clouds we're seeing
They're explosions in the sky
It seems it's written
But we can't read between the line

Hush
It's okay
Dry your eye
Dry your eye
Soul mate dry your eye
Dry your eye
Soul mate dry your eye
Cause soul mates never die

This one world vision
Turns us in to compromise
What good's religion
When it's each other we despise
Damn the government
Damn the killing
Damn the lies

Hush
It's okay
Dry your eyes
Dry your eyes
Soul mate dry your eyes
Dry your eyes
Soul mate dry your eyes
Cause soul mates never die

Soul mates never die, never die
Soul mates never die, never die

Soulmates never die [Repeats]

    My Interpretation

I heard that this song was written about the 'cliché' of 'Soulmate' love inspired by a Psychiatrist that believed 2 of his patients were meant to be.

So there's kind of a mocking tone to this song IMO by the lyricist..I don't think he believes in that fairytale.

Personally I do, I can't help wanting/needing that one that completes you and i have that faith that he/she is out there thinking the same.

"The sea's evaporating Though it comes as no surprise These clouds we're seeing They're explosions in the sky It seems it's written But we can't read between the line"

These lovers and their relationship is not perfect in the least and being together is hurting them..Love is never perfect no matter how 'meant' you think you are for each other..We all carry the 'marks' of life with us everywhere we go..Life is bipolar..It gives you just as much pleasure as it does pain, but there's a sad growth in that...No matter how much these 2 need each other, sometimes it's not the right time for love. Maybe it's 'their' end.

"Hush It's okay Dry your eye Dry your eye Soul mate dry your eye Dry your eye Soul mate dry your eye Cause soul mates never die"

It's a sad ending but they've left that 'indelible' mark on each other..One that won't be forgotten and they may never be together again or fate might reconnect them somewhere down the line but regardless of what the future holds that memory will never leave them.

"This one world vision Turns us in to compromise What good's religion When it's each other we despise Damn the government Damn the killing Damn the lies"

I take this to mean that the world is messed up but governments/religion/wars/ etc are nothing compared to the damage that 'love' can do to someone...Nothing can truly reach our soul to break us like the pain of love..Love makes you crazy..Love makes you blind..Love can build you up as much as break you down.

"Soul mates never die, never die Soul mates never die, never die"

Again just the power of connection and how it never really leaves you...Love never really dies..The lines just blur a bit.

It's a beautiful song..I'm so attracted to this band's music cause they paint love exactly for what it is, Messy/Destructive/Painful..The 'real' relationship is in those kinds of moments where we see each others weaknesses and insecurities..That's the true test IMO
