I went outside
To take a walk
So I could relive memories
I thought that you would lend a hand

But you were never ever there
It's all in your mind
You do what you want to do
Your promises are all played out

You've got your wish
You've worn me down
I've treated you the best I could
I realize that I don't need you

I lost my way
When you left home
I thought that you could change your life
What did I do

Why do you lie
You've walked back in
My hands are tied
It's all in your mind

You do what you want to do
Your promises are all played out
You've got your wish
You've worn me down

I've treated you the best I could
I realize that I don't need you
It's all in your mind
You do what you want to me

It's all in your mind
You do what you want, to me
I'm tired
I'm so damn angry with you

You're not gonna change
I see who you really are
Your promises are all played out
You've got your wish

You've worn me down
I've treated you the best I could
I realize that I don't need you
Your promises

Your promises
Your promises
They're all played out
You're so played out

You're so played out
You're so played out
They're all played out

General Comment:I love this song! Mark stated that this song is about a boy that tried his best to live up to people's expectations, but in the end was tired of trying to do so and went out to live by his own expectations. This song is probably the best song of the Unstable album.

General Comment:Definatley one of Ademas softer songs.....at least somewhat. The meaning is pretty obvious. I just like the way the softer parts of the song are structured, yummy!

General Comment:Well, for me this song means a lot. I just got out of a really abusive relationship, where this guy would go off on me verbally and physically and I would put up with it because he was always "sorry" and promised to stop and get help. Thing is, he never was really serious about changing. He'd go to therapy and bullshit the therapist and me, then we'd leave and he'd go right back to the same behavior and wouldn't try to change anything. So, the 3rd time is the charm, he beat the crap out of me one night, just 2 weeks ago in fact, he busted my head open and nearly killed me. He went back to jail for the 3rd time and he's going to be there for quite a while and I am not going to fall for his "pity" me routine and endless promises ever again!! I hope he enjoys being treated like the abused little bitch for a change while he's in jail.

General Comment:Is it just me or does this song reek of Seether's "Fine Again"? Is it supposed to be like that?

General Comment:Really cool song. I think this new album has an obvious theme about trust issues in a relationship.
