Lyrics for Mexican Wine as interpreted by rjbucs28

Mexican Wine Lyrics
He was killed by a cellular phone explosion
They scattered his ashes across the ocean
The water was used to make baby lotion
The wheels of promotion were set into motion
(chorus)
But the sun still shines in the summer time
I'll be yours if you'll be mine
I tried to change but I changed my mind
Think I'll have another glass of mexican wine
She lived alone in a small apartment
Across the street from the health department
She left her pills in the glove compartment
That was the afternoon her heart went
(chorus)
And the sun still shines in the summer time
I'll be yours if you'll be mine
I tried to change but I changed my mind
Think I'll have another glass of mexican wine
Think I'll have another glass of mexican wine
I used to fly for United Airlines
Then I got fired for reading high times
License expired in almost no time
Now I'm retired and I think that's fine
(chorus)
Because the sun still shines in the summer time
I'll be yours if you'll be mine
I tried to change but I changed my mind
Think I'll have another glass of mexican wine
(repeat 2x)
Think I'll have another glass of mexican wine
Won't you have another glass of mexican wine

this song is so incredibly catchy, the first line is my favorite. i think he's trying to say that life is crazy and ironic, but still good so you should just go with it

What great lyrics, hahaha. Yeah, I first got a hold of this last summer and it was number one on this huge FoW mix I made and listened to all of last year. I just broke it out again because now it's nice and I'm feeling all summery.

ANYWAY, I just think it's about how a lot of shit happens, but the day still goes on, the sun still shines. You just drink your wine and feel good about what IS going right. Awesome song, FoW rocks.

This song is cool. To me it's just describing how life can suck. But there is always tommorow and a chance for things to be better. So drink up and hope for the best. It's a happy song within a sad one, kinda funny actually.

I like to think that the song is also about how little terrible things build up to bigger things. I sort of find it funny, at least the opening. Much like everyone else I too believe this could be many things. It does sound right to say it's about how you should have hope for better things and just relax for the moment and cast your worry aside to just watch the world go by. The song even matches the sort of mood and tone that would fit the situation when you sit back and relax and don't worry and simply do nothing but breathe.

I absolutely love the lyric
"I tried to changed, but I changed my mind"
Yeah, I agree with you guys. This song is about how stuff happens, but you just gotta roll with it and play the hand you're dealt.

Brilliant? Could be about so many things? Can someone who said that this song could be about "so many things" tell me just one thing that it could be about? For example, what might
The water was used to make baby lotion
The wheels of promotion were set into motion
mean? I look at it and I see...nothing. They just rhymed random words into plausible sentences and then wrote this song.

I happen to dislike this song but that's not the point. The point is this song couldn't "be about so many things." It's pop, plain and simple.

Well, quite simply mswer, there are many ways to say this: you're wrong.

Now, is this the deepest song ever? Of course not. But it isn't "pop, pain and simple." It *does* mean something.

"He was killed by a cellular phone explosion
They scattered his ashes across the ocean "

Bizzarre and unrealistic way to die, yet a grandiose sendoff. Existentialism, plain and simple.

"The water was used to make baby lotion
The wheels of promotion were set into motion "

In other words, his death amounted to nothing, and yet it still set events into place.

"But the sun still shines in the summer time
I'll be yours if you'll be mine
I tried to change but I changed my mind
Think I'll have another glass of mexican wine "

No matter what happens, some things you can always count on. Second line is a standard song lyric, I've gotten used to it. Third line is him thinking "Well, I could try and change things" but then saying screw it and accepting life. Fourth line is sitting back and appreciating what you DO have.

She lived alone in a small apartment
Across the street from the health department
She left her pills in the glove compartment
That was the afternoon her heart went

Girl, living across from the health department, leaves her pills in the car the one day she needs them, (presumably) dies of a heart attack. Ironic and tragic death, and yet chorus shows that life goes on.

"I used to fly for United Airlines
Then I got fired for reading high times
License expired in almost no time
Now I'm retired and I think that's fine "

Play on two meanings of the word high, then him accepting what has happened and being happy with it.

Got it?

I think this song is so inspirational. It proves that the sun really does still shine in the summertime no matter what may happen to you through the year. Things go on.

ok first of all major typo its definetly not "The wheels of promotion were set into motion" it is clearly "The wheels of COMMOTION were set into motion" have any of you even listened to this song? this also makes much more sense considering a random of chane of events would be commotion thus it starts commotion quite a good line IMHO

and btw there is mexican wine from what i hear its like mexican beer cheap inexpensive and well mexican lol (think box wine, now think mexico)

I've listened to this song so many times... to me, it means the the irony in life can be beautiful, chaotic, f-ed up, and unpredictable. For lines such as "...have a glass of mexican wine..." and "...I'll be your's if you'll be mine..." just mean that you should take ahold of this life before the irnoy gets you.

Oh, one more note, not to be rude, madmax988, but I have the cd, and the lyrics do go "the wheels of promomotion..." not commotion. Besides, that wouldn't make any sense. (-^.^-)

I was really surprised when I heard this because I didn’t realise that it was FOW! I had only ever heard Stacy’s mom and wasn’t all that impressed but this is a really laid back song. Totally just about the fact that shit happens but there is nothing that you can do about it. Life goes on so you may as well just sit back and enjoy the ride.
