Call me out
You stayed inside
One you love
Is where you hide
Shot me down
As I flew by
Crash and burn
I think sometimes
You forget where the heart is
Answer no
To these questions
Let her go
Learn a lesson
It's not me
You're not listening now
Can't you see
Something's missing
You forget where the heart is

Take you away
From that empty apartment
You stay
And forget where the heart is
Someday
If ever you loved me
You'd say
It's okay

Waking up
From this nightmare
How's you're life
What's it like there
Is it all
That you want it to be
Does it hurt
When you think about me
And how broken my heart is

Take you away
From that empty apartment
You stay
And forget where the heart is
Someday
If ever you loved me
You'd say it's okay

It's okay to be angry and never let go
It only gets harder the more that you know
When you get lonely if no one's around,
You know that I'll catch you when you're falling down
We came together but you left alone
And I know how it feels to walk out on your own
Maybe someday I will see you again
And you'll look me in my eyes and call me your friend

Take you away from
That empty apartment
You stay and forget where the heart is
Someday
If ever you loved me
You'd say it's okay
It's okay it's okay

General Comment:I've always liked this song but until recently it hasn't meant anything real to me.

Back in December, I had this girl who was my best friend, and I was best friends with this other guy too. And I liked him. And I told her and she turned around and kissed him, and then they started dating and now they're together. And it of course really hurt me, and I told him why, and exactly how I felt, and he more or less turned his back on me and the 7 years of being best friends that we had to be with her, who he knew for a month. There was a lot of lashing out, and even now I'm still struggling, because I know that the minute he ever needs anything I will jump through fiery hoops to help him, because deep down he's still my best friend in the whole world, but I just can't forgive him yet. Or her for that matter. But he lived in the apartment right across from mine and we used to hang out all the time, and now he's not there anymore and it's empty, and my apartment feels empty too.

So basically, that's how I interpret this song. What actually happened in my life.

General Comment:after a messy breakup, going back to that empty apartment after one of the people have moved out. and how hard it can be to get over someone.

'It's okay to be angry and never let go
It only gets harder the more that you know'

the person who got hurt can't forgive the person who hurt them. they're always angry and can' let go.

'When you get lonely if no one's around
You know that I'll catch you when you're falling down'

now the person who hurt them is saying, i'm still here if you need me, sort of thing. obviously still wanting to be part of their life.

'We came together but you left alone
And I know how it feels to walk out on your own'

they moved in together, and it's not worked out so one of them has walked out on their own to be alone. and the other person is saying they understand how hard it can be to be on your own.

'Maybe someday I will see you again
And you'll look me in my eyes and call me your friend'

maybe one day they will be able to talk again, and the person who got hurt will forgive the person who hurt them.

it's obviously a song about two people who have broken up, but they still want to be a part of each others lives. but they are just not sure about how to do that.

My Interpretation:I think this means that, two people were together. But she left him because she felt there was something better out there for her, even though he loved her, she couldn't stay.

I get this mainly from "How's your life, what's it like there?
Is it all what you want it to be?"

It's like he's watching her find that thing that she feels in better, but as far as he was concerned she had it all with him. But she couldn't see it in her heart.

General Comment:i have no clue why this song means so much to me.. it's ridiculousespecially Its okay to be angry--through the rest of the song.i really like it, it kinda just summarizes how you feel about somebody who's not really in your life anymorei think anybody could relate this to anybody, like for example to an old friend who died or just moved on, or an ex, just somebody who's just moved on in general.there's my input.

General Comment:this song means more to me than any other song I've heard, situationally, i suppose. I like other songs much better, but meaning wise, this is most appropriate. I waited and waited for my best friend to get home from the Army. she allowed me to live in her apartment for a little while while she was gone. I went 4 states away to pick her up, and we listened to yellowcard from that day after.
When she actually got back home, we had a falling out, and everytime i hear this song, it just tells our story.

"maybe someday i will see you again
And you'll look me in my eyes and call me your friend" is the perfect way to put it.

A few days ago, one of my 'new' roommates and i were waiting for pizza in a shop downstairs and discovered an unlocked door. We went up and crossed a dark hallway. On the other end was my old apartment building, and this song was the only thing i coudl think about.

it's a great tune. I'm sure everyone has lost someone they truly love due to something stupid.

    General Comment:i love this song...
it reminds me of this boy. we used to be really close...in words to all you something corporate fans, he was my konstantine. But we fell apart for different reasons. So now, months later, im going out with one of his best friends. im not sure if i wanted to get back at him..or well his friend is a lot different, but hes a great guy really. we kept it a secret for a while, but eventually he found out i was dating his good friend...it came out by some other person idk. and well i dont like that he knows...cause in a way i still feel for him.

    he wrote to me:
"It's okay to be angry and never let go
It only gets harder the more that you know
When you get lonely if no one's around
You know that I'll catch you when you're falling down
We came together but you left alone
And I know how it feels to walk out on your own
Maybe someday I will see you again
And you'll look me in my eyes and call me your friend"
ill never forget the feeling i felt, all i wanted was these lyrics to come true, it was always my wish. and i think it still is.

General Comment:This song is about Warren Cooke the ex-bassist of yellowcard who left before ocean avenue. Ryan and Warren got in a fight and thats why he left. The lyrics will explain the rest. If you watch the "making of ocean avenue" when you buy ocean avenue, ryan explains the songs about a good friend who is no longer in yellowcard and that they had a falling out.
