What happened to you
You've played the victim for so long now in this game
What I thought was true
Is made of fiction and I'm following the same

But if I try to make sense of this mess I'm in
I'm not sure where I should begin
I'm fallin'
I'm fallin'

[Chorus]
Now I'm in over my head
with something I said
Completely misread
I'm better off dead
And now I can see
How fake you can be
This hypocrisy is beginning to get to me

It's none of my concern
Don't look to me because I don't believe in fame
I guess you never heard
I've met our makers they don't even know your name

But if I had to say goodbye to leave this hell
I'd say my time has served me well
I'm fallin'
I'm fallin'

[Chorus]

[Bridge]
This came long before
Those who suffer more
I'm too awake for this to be a nightmare

What's with my disgrace
I lost the human race
No one plans for it to blow up in their face

Who said it was easy to put back all these pieces
Who said it was so easy to put back all of these pieces

[Chorus]

Over my head
Better off dead

Over my head
Better off dead

Alright!

General Comment:Surprised that no one has said it, but I'm pretty sure it's about rejection. "The something he said" being asking. "How fake you can be" is that he feels played and he's "better off dead" while he copes about it "blowing up" in his face. He must put himself back together to move on. When you're in "over your head" it means that your believing more than what you should really be thinking. The signs that the other person showed were "misread" and he's "lost the human race" as a result and can't see the good in others for the time being. Or he's trying to keep to himself to hide the pain.

And for those people at the start who said that the song's like Nickelback or whatever---Nickelback and Sum41 are completely different--since when is Nickelback punk?

General Comment:I think everyone can relate to this song. Its about someone who got into a bad a situation where everything they thought was true turned out being a lie and now they have put the pieces back together to figure out what the hell happened?
I'm going through a situation like that with my ex. Apparently half of what he said was a lie and the other half wasn't. Now I've just gotta figure out what was true and what wasn't and basically what the hell happened. Believe me it ain't easy. Especially since the moment he started talking to me again, he lied again and I found out almost instantaneously.

General Comment:I think that the song is about mistakes someone has made in their live, which is apparent from the chorus:
"Now I'm in, Over My Head, For something I said, Completely misread, I'm Better Off Dead."
He has done, or said too many wrongs things, that he's "Over his head", in other words he can't sort out his life, or he doesn't know how to, and that people have misinterpreted him, so the only escape seems to be death.

Some of the best lyrics for this also have to be:
    This came all before
    Those who suffer more
I'm too awake for this to be a nightmare
    What's with my disgrace
    I lost the human race

He is paying for his mistakes/lies that he has commited.

That's just how I see it anyway.

General Comment:There are alot of mistakes in the lyrics to this song!!! its "No one plans for this to blow up in their face" and alot of other mistakes. But i think this song is about somebody who has put their foot in it somewhere and is soo far past the point of redeeming themselves that they have given up even trying!
