You said you wanted
You said you Needed
What you don't know is I know
That you can't get it

You said you know me
You know nothing at all
You said you hate me
Well believe me I hate you to

Stop stand down wait,
I don't want to go.
Send me somewhere warm.
Stop stand down wait,
I don't want to go.

We want it all.
They try to stop you from dreaming.
They're there to make your life hell.
Just try to stop me from dreaming believing.

Stop, stand down wait
I don't want to go.
Send me somewhere warm

And are we really happy?
Ask yourself, ask yourself this time.
and are we really happy [ask yourself]with who we are right now?
You said you want it
You said you need it

General Comment:I think this song is about finally being fed up with someone who led you on and told you things you wanted to hear.
They thought they were close to you, but if they really were, they wouldn't have screwed you over.

And I think the "send me somewhere warm" part is something everyone can relate to. Just wanting to leave. to get out. to go somewhere else and get away.

General Comment:This was the first moneen song I ever heard!!! I have an amazing live version of it where they go off into a lttle instrumental at the end which is AWESOMELY kick ass! I always thought it was about a relationship where the girl takes it a step further but the guy didn't/ wasn't ready for it yet.

I guess you could see this part as criticizing the proverbial "Man". However, the rest of the song is pretty self-explanatory, except for:

    "Stop stand down wait,
    I don't want to go.
    Send me somewhere warm."

I still can't figure out how to explain that part, but I think everyone kind of knows the feeling of knowing that you like where you are right now, and being apprehensive about changing your personal status quo unless you know it'll be for the better.

That's my take on things. Moneen is a great band, but I still like "The Rise and Fall of Maximus Hughes in the Key of F Sharp Minor" the best. That's probably because I'm a sucker for instrumentals, and that one is awesome. 'Tis all.

General Comment:i find this song to be exactly like the title. i would probly be completely lost about what this song means, but then the title explains it. i relate it to my life.

"are we really happy with who we are right now"
say, two people are depressed.. or they fight alot.. or there not themselves around each other.
or say you have a really bad friend. not that they're bad.. but when you two get together you do bad things..
i duno. i find it's about that. how people are when they're together.

General Comment:rite. this song is about how they felt about signing up to vagrant records. they were worried that vagrant might try and influence their sound and style but then they discovered that vagrant are actually pretty damn cool (letting them keep their smallman contract in canada). its on the moneen website i think. read the lyrics it makes perfect sense

General Comment:I've been following .Moneen for a while now, seeing as they're from right here in Toronto, and they put on the best live show ever. I think the lyrics in this song are directed to someone who used to be a friend and changed just because they thought they'd be happier if they were different and they don't like the new them so they're trying to change the world to suit them instead of admitting they're wrong.
I don't know, but it sounds pretty darn close.

General Comment:Wow. I can't believe there is only 2 posts before me on this song. Once they signed to Vagrant Records I found them, and I think they're absolutely amazing... including this song! Keep up the great work .moneen.
