Bees in the caramel and I'm not afraid
Surgeons make incisions
what a mess they've made
Tearing at my skin leaving knives in my brain
Stabbing at the voices making me insane

Girls vomit candy and lies that they're fed
Boys whisper lullabies and wet their beds
Eat TV violence on the toast that they spread
Talking with their mouths full here is what they've said

Say Hello to my Little friend the world is getting ugly
and we did it again....
Say Hello to my Little friend the world is getting ugly
and we did it again...
Ohh Uh Ohh The Band Aid only covers the Bullet Hole
Ohh Uh Ohh The Band Aid only covers the Bullet Hole

LA LA LA -LA LA LA LA LA LA-

Spiders in my hair and guns on my mind
Thinking about the people who've been so unkind
If looks could kill them
I might make myself blind
Startled at the reasons that I just can't find
Kids break the dishes they crash on the floor
Parents hate the noise and shove them out the door
Robots steal emotions hide them under their beds
It's gets them so excited
Here is what they've said......

The Band Aid only covers the Bullet Hole
LA LA LA -LA LA LA LA LA LA- BLAH -BLAH-
BLAH -BLAH BLAH BLAH-BLAH-BLAHHHHHH.

General Comment:Well, for future refrence these are the lyrics for the version on the single/EP Band Aid Only Covers the Bullet Hole. The version on the album Sweet Heart Dealer has a one word difference. "Robots steal NARCOTICS hide them under their beds"

General Comment:In my opinion, "If looks could kill them
I might make myself blind" means that she doesn't really want to hurt anybody, so she'll make her self blind to make sure she doesn't.

    OR

It could mean she'd look everyone to death and he eyes would explode.. But considering the context of the song and "Thinking about the people who've been so unkind
    If looks could kill them
    I might make myself blind"

She's exprerianced what it feels like to be hurt and doesn't wish to reciprocate.

General Comment:Does anyone have any idea as to the meaning of:

    "If looks could kill them
    I might make myself blind"

It's just that that line has been bugging me all day and I have no idea what it means.

General Comment:It's not a school shooting.

This song's about having to deal with all the problems society throws at you, and then when people try to "heal" such a wound, you realize how superficial that is: just because the physical aspect of the wound healed, doesn't mean the trauma will go away anytime soon.

General Comment:I think it's pretty clearly about a school shooting.

The singer is a girl who was very seriously wounded during the attack and nearly died. In the first part, the doctors are performing surgery on her (due to what they say about "knives in (her) brain", it was quite possibly her head that was shot); most of the rest of the song is about the shooters and the shooting itself.

See, the girl actually feels somewhat sorry for the shooters. She knows they've led very troubled lives and undergone a lot of trauma, so she knows they're screwed up. But she WAS seriously wounded, and now there's a bullet hole in her head (or wherever she was shot), covered only by bandages.

General Comment:I thought this song related to self-injury.
Part about the robots hiding their emotions, girls vomitting, and boys wetting their beds, the song is kind of emotional and ties to hiding something or realizing nothing gets better but worst.

General Comment:I think that the point of view in the song is coming from soneone who the rest of society called "crazy" (maybe she's getting a lobotomy, who knows?) and how insane the rest of our culture is. How little girls gobble up lies like candy, about the hypocritical violence in today's world (the scarface quote in the context of all of these references to little children), and about how we are using even more artificial excuses to justify the problem ("The bandaid only covers the bullet hole")
