Wake up;
Our past stops right now
I see light, must be you
Watch and learn
Burning it blue
Blood boiling
In slow motion
Only shines
Distortion
Don't be afraid

What?
Are you surprised?
I'm staying alive
I spit in your eye, drive a stake in you
Take me away, take me away
I gave you the world, it was all for you
But I'm sick and tired of wasting time
I want mine
Take me away, take me away
I gave you the world, it was all for you
Stinkin' lies, stinkin' lies, stinkin' lies

We'll die trying to live so long
I can wait, and I should
Leave the phone off the hook
Don't be afraid
Don't be afraid
Don't be afraid

i think it's about a stalker, personally. a few tomahawk songs follow similar suit of obnoxious, self-obsessed desires. patton sounds freakishly obsessive about this person, saying "our past stops right now" as if to clear out any confrontation he has had with this person while yrying to get closer to them, and making a fresh start. i also see this in "we'll de trying to live so long." also i reckon it covers aspects of schizophrenia where at first he's calm and showing interest, whereas in the chorus he seems to be violent and craving the person in question. then, at the end, he's calm again, saying he "should" wait for this person to comply rather than forcing them...

also the fact that it's called capt. midnight makes me feel as though he's watching the person under a cover of darkness.
