yea..see i broke up with my b/f like a month ago and it's hard sometimes b/c when i need him the most hes not there.....so basically everytime i hear this song..it just reminds me of him and our times...i know I'm still angry inside but the song just makes it go away..only for the time being .

Okay... I love the idea of this being from a guy to a girl or a girl to a guy, but the last verse "...You make me feel like I am clean again" makes me think he's singing this to God. You know, I'm probably just completely wrong, but that's my take. I think this is the lead's love song to God.

actually. when i think of clean being used in this song. it could be that the girl/guy feels clean of the problems that they normally face when they aren't around that someone.

Anberlin's cover of this song is too much better than the original.
sooo much better.

Christian's voice is so unique and he just brings this song to life.
it's kinda mesmerising.

i think the meaning of this song is pretty clear.

I've heard a lot of covers of "Love Song", and just when I thought A Perfect Cricle's Cover of it was the best, I stumble upon Anberlin's cover. In my opinion nothing beats this one. It sticks close to the original and tried not to reinvent musically, but nonethless I feel Anberlin Adds their own unqiue feel to Love Song & it's come out very beautifully in the end. I
mho, the Vocals are a lot more defined and harmonizes with the chord progression far better than the original, the only thing it can't win over The Cure's version is that, the original sounds more raw and has genuine emotion drawing from it. Overall, Anberlin has done an awesome cover of this =)

they're a Christian band, though they obv. know the song can be taken in diff. ways because there's no direct reference to a girl or God as in some of their other songs. but this can easily be an expression of their love towards Jesus. Look at they're other stuff which show feelings of affection and alot of them are directed towards God, like their next song on the album "cadence".
"Restless, you leave me restless"
"Heartstrings, you're tugging at my heartstrings"
"You're a miracle to me"..(you know its directed towards God because he makes a reference to Paul)
