In the shadows where the heads hang low
You hear voices as the wind blows, asking "Can't you see?"
Reminding you to breathe
It's only time before it catches up to you and all your broken luck
I found a better way to get even with my memory
In the darkness where the angels cry
Give us water, give us back our eyes
Our bed's this concrete floor, and it's all we have left to live for
A day we'll never face
We're only second-handed, we're sick, and lonely
Fighting back the tears and every urge to Van Gogh both our ears
That's it, we've had enough
Please turn that fucking radio off
Ain't nothing on the air waving the despair we feel
In the shadows where the heads hang low
You hear voices as the wind blows, asking "can't you see?"
Reminding you to breathe
It's only time before it catches up to you and all your broken luck
I found a better way to get even with my enemies
That's it, we've had enough
Please turn that fucking radio off
Ain't nothing on the air waving the despair we feel
That said, we've had enough
Put "Walk Among Us" on and turn it up
Ain't nothing on the air waving the hatred I feel
This is my biggest fear
The only tunes that we hear
Come via antenna through your car radio
That's it, we've had enough (we've had enough)
That's it, we've had enough (we've had enough)
You hear voices as the wind blows, asking "Can't you see?"
Reminding you to breathe
It's only time before it catches up to you and all your broken luck
I found a better way to get even with my memory

And by the way, Alkaline Trio is just alright band, but have you noticed how their every songs sounds just alike? Yeah, at least Green Day songs are different and they are trying different styles. Green Day is a great band and if you superior assholes are too stupid to realize it then fuck you.
in my opinion
dont worry ive got all day..
and skibas lyrics are far more fuckin interesting than any rage fuckin lyric not saying that rage is bad but skiba deff has more talent than fuckin greenday and greenday should die i agree with you river of lethe
you honestly do not hear any good songs on the radio anymore.
ya know whats funny i can see calmlikeabomb talking shit here about alk3 and see him driving in his car listening to american idiot. by greenday thats how fucked up people can be
but as far as the song goes... fuck whats there not to like about plain and simple
There is something really powerful about this song, maybe because:-
Unlike Green Day this band actually care
Unlike Green Day this band have allways been critical of society
This song came out way before American Idiot
Green Day just copied Matt with the whole eye-liner thing
Billie Joe is a dick!
Alkaline Trio are great! Their new stuff is a little emo though:(
