well i love this song. but i dont like the over use of heavy distortion, too much bass and those fucking drums get annoying too. there are beautiful riffs in this song that you can barely hear cuz the drums swallow them up. otherwise its a great song.

its too bad metallica cant die from some fatal tragedy, at least not anymore, cuz now they suck

take Queen for example. Freddie Mercury had died of aids. he was a queer. but despite that, he was one of the most legendary frontmen in the hard rock genre. if he died much later or was still alive today, Queen wouldnt be so kickass, they would be another brick in the wall.

I play metallica myself and I can say that skillwise this album is so simplified that it is just too sad. I can compose this album pherphaps in 2 days. This is sad that people like this so much, I don't see any skill in this writing. Just compare to old records, it is obvious that metallica went downhill. Fade to black for instance is written in 2 keys: B-minor and A-minor. Plus in each key there is a solo. But this new production has no solos at all. The lyrics lost its meaning compare to the old versions. I must say it is a big desopointment. Metallica used to sing of corruption, but now they corrupeted themselves. I think they should stop playing this crap and devote thier lives and money to something more worthable.
What else can I say.......????

I agree with IceWindDale 120%. I play lots of Metallica myself and I was dissapointed with this CD. Sure the songs are ok but it is waaaayy to commercialized. It's far to simple. You can learn a song on this CD in an hour if your retarted. There are no solo's at all. WHY KIRK WHY!!!!! They need to go back to the 80's heavy metal style because thats were the skill is. Slash still solos. Steve Vai still solos. Kirk needs to start back with it. The lyrics lack any meaning , straight foward or metaphoric. It's safe to say. compared to thier older stuff, this CD is shit and a waste of money. This IS coming from a true metallica fan and devoted guitarist.
