  General Comment:great song, I listen to it each time I go out, kinda theme song. MMM, yeah sure it reminds sex!
  Love yeah yeah yeahs, they've got songs like this, tick or art star, besides they can make a perfectly sense and relaxing songs like maps or dudley.
  I believe they're the best thing happened to music in 2000s, thinking of all shit bands like the strokes, arctic monkeys, kaiser chiefs and so and so...

  General Comment:to me, the first line ("i got a date with the night burning down my finger") makes me picture someone who lit a match.
  it's probably got drug references in it.

  General Comment:I think this song is about a night out and being young & wild. I think it has sexual connotations but I wouldn't interpret every line literally.
  
  "Date with the night" is an expression meaning you plan on going out with the intention of having fun.
  "Gonna walk on water" means that she feels young & almost super human, like when you're really pumped up for something & feel like anything can happen.
  "Dropping brides at the alter" means forgetting your responsibilities & commitments, so again, it's about letting go & being young & wild.
  I think she says "chop" too, and it may have no meaning or it could mean "get to it right now", like "chop chop!"

  General Comment:Oh--and, about how "both thighs squeezed tight" is then followed by "choke choke choke..."--yes, there's the symbolism of sex, but also off the girl trying to hold onto the guy. and then he feels suffocated by her.
