the first time i saw the descendents, they were the fastest band i'd ever seen
no one in the crowd really cared for them, we were waiting for The Ally Cats to play
after a couple months i heard Kabuki Girl, on Rodney On The Roo late sunday night
that was enough for me, i hopped the bus to Licorice Pizza and baught my all time favorite record

the next time i went to the whiskey, it was DOA with Millions of Dead Cops
the latter band played faster than i could believe
but the songs sounded the same and kinda sucked
'cept John Wayne was a Nazi, and Joey Shithead was a drunk
then John Macias beat some hippie to a pulp, cuz having long hair was a mistake

the third time i went to the hospital, i needed 13 stitches in my head
i managed to catch about 6 songs of Ill Repute, then some suicidal threw me into a post
my girlfriend started to cry cuz we had to leave before DRI played 50 lousy songs
my blood stained shirt smelled of clove cigarettes
but it sure looked pretty cool after a wash

General Comment:This wicked song makes you really feel like you are at a punk show. I love how Fat Mike talks about seeing DOA because they were on the first hardcore albums I ever bought, read the book, and I've seen them twice in concert---Joey Shithead came down and talked to me-a really cool guy and I hope he ends up becoming a member of parliament with the NDP.

The Descendants bit is pretty cool too. I love how the first underground punk band I ever listened to has had such a strong influence on some many of the bands I love be them Nofx of blink-182.

General Comment:He's reminiscing about some great times he had at some classic punk shows. The 13 stitches in his head & the trips to the hospital are the proof.

General Comment:The song is about THE WHISKEY, it was an underground basement show room. The Most Infamous place of punk rock on the west coast.

General Comment:There is a lyric error above. "after a couple months i heard Kabuki Girl, on Rodney On The Roo late sunday night" should be "Rodney on the Roq (pronounced-rock)" late sunday night. It is refering to a DJ on 106.7 KROQ a LA rock/alternative/punk radio station. On which Rodney had a spot called "Rodney on the Roq" that was on from 12am-3am(?) that played a lot of punk and "not popular" music.

General Comment:Yeah right 80smovieguy Nofx is wayyyyyyyy better than DRI. I mean DRI is good but NOFX especially there old stuff is supurb, way better the the overused 1,2,1,2,1,2 drum beat of the 80's

General Comment:i got annoyed at the "and d.r.i. played 50 lousy songs" line. i don't really care if he was joking or not. i think d.r.i. is a way better punk band than Nofx.

General Comment:I really love this song on the album. A lot of the songs are really heavy and they are trying to make a point (which they do and the whole ablum rules) but its great to have a more laid back fun song like this near the end.
