I thought you were the one when I heard Holidays in the sun come
From your bedroom but my mind started to stray when I saw Youth of Today
Mixed with your singles what's with this underdog
And this GNR EP? I don't think Hanoi rocks
And I don't want your Paul Stanley next to my Subhumans gatefold
I'm not trying to be a jerk but I don't think this record mergers gonna work

But when I saw Christ on Parade, and This is Boston, Not LA
I knew you were the one
I knew you were for me when I saw the first Vandals EP
I found SNFU and cool I owned that record too
Seems we both had Social Unrest and sung "she's a pervert nurse"
We both had the first pressing of How Could Hell Be Any Worse

So now we got two Earth ADs and we got two Killing Jokes
We got two Adolescents two Peni's and two The Crews
We got two Someone Got Their Head Kicked Ins
We got two Declines, two Damaged
And two Jelous Agains, I knew you were the one

When I saw Machine Gun Etiquette
I knew you were the one when I saw the Peace War comp
We got two Articles of Faith, 31 minutes of group sex
We got a couple of Avengers, and a pair of Out Of Steps
We got 2 What We Do Is Secret, we got 2 TSOL's
We got 2 Freedom Of Choices we got two Three Hits From
Hells

I knew you were the one

"3 Hits From Hell" by the misfits

on the surface the song is about mike meeting someone to merge his record collection with and being unsure until he finds some of the greatest HC punk albums ever recorded.

deeper down i think this is more mikes way of proving to the ppl who think hes not a true punk that he does have a HC punk background, and just because NOFX doesn't play HC, doesn't mean he isn't.

but hey i'm probably reading waaay to much into it, i decided to write that list as the song revealed some awesome albums i didn't already own, such as This Is Boston Not L.A., i still can't find a copy of Someone Got Their Head Kicked In tho :(

Okay so in the song, this guy finds this girl that likes a band that he also likes.. But when he looks though her CD collection, he see's a lot of bands he hates.. But he ends up finding some CDs that he really really really likes.. The rest of the song is about them getting together and putting their CD collections together.. And now they have two copies of each CD..

Who ever said it was a girl, maybe just a close friend?

I doubt he is refering to his friend as "the one" Great sond. All the referances to old punk albums make this song really amusing

Obviously a song about a relationship decided by music collections. Been there.

I can get most of the refferences, but the ones i missed were "Someone Got Their Head Kicked Ins" , "What we do is secret" and "she's a pervert nurse". Any help? Sorry if this makes me sound ignorant.

Someone Got Their Head Kicked In is a comp featuring Bad Religion, Social Distortion, and Youth Brigade. "Pervert Nurse" is a song by D.I. off of the album "Horse Bites, Dog Cries".

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
