We were doomed from the start
As lovers are
Why am I doing this?
Digging my own grave
though it's shallow
I would lie in it
Work down in the basement
in the dark
after we crash your car
Hoping fast that the arrow hits the mark
so you know who we are

Please keep the reporters at bay
This is a matter of life and death, but I deal with things like this every day
Please keep the reporters at bay
You never do what I tell you to
You never do what I say

We've been hurting a long time
trying hard for this
We all have sizable scars
We got it
You'd break it all apart
We got it
We can make it work like this, like this, like this

Yes we are a bullet in the heart
and the message is sent
Always dragging your feet on the sand and the hot cement
Make a list of your favorites, write it down, make it legible
A problem we're always facing, we never rest
You either push or pull

Please keep the crowd under control
This is a matter of life and death and we're not prepared, we just want you to know
Please keep the crowd under control
This is the weight of my conscience
This is our all time low

We've been hurting a long time
trying hard for this
We all have sizable scars
We got it
You'd break it all apart
We got it
We can make it work like this, like this, like this

I see my baby
She's starry eyed
I feel my bones break all the time
I see my baby
She's starry eyed
She follows
Don't call me a god

I see my baby
She's starry eyed
I feel my bones break all the time
I see my baby
She's starry eyed
She follows
Don't call me a god

We've been hurting a long time
trying hard for this
We all have sizable scars
We got it
You'd break it all apart
We got it
We can make it work like this, like this, like this

We've been hurting a long time
trying hard for this
We all have sizable scars
We got it
You'd break it all apart
We got it
We could make it work like this, like this, like this

General Comment:This song is from Your Favorite Weapon B-Sides only available on vinyl as is "My Nine Rides Shotgun". Almost impossible to find like the Holiday EP. I have all of the songs from that EP and this song under "Flying At Tree Level. "Play Crack The Sky" is the last track on Deja Entendu, and "Good To Know That If I Ever Need Attention All I Have To Do Is Die" is the penultimate track. 3 completely different songs.

I believe Your Favorite Weapon on vinyl was not distributed by Triple Crown Records/Razor and Tie Direct. Only the EP version was. Note that this song can also be found as a B-Side on Deja Entendu on vinyl.

General Comment:this song is about being in a successful band... How much of a pain in the ass it is...

How they don't want to be looked on as "stars" but normal guys... Its a humble song...

How they never knew what they were in for...

Memory:the chorus sounds like a slowed down version of smooth criminal (Michael Jackson OR covered by alien ant farm) to me.

General Comment:No one really talked about what this song is about. Personally, this is my favorite song.
    Anyways,
I think this song is about a relationship that wasn't meant to last. I don't really like breaking down songs because then I feel like I'm looking to much into it, rather then just listening to it as a whole, but overall, this song seems to make a lot of sense if you just listen to it rather than dissecting it.

General Comment:Does this song sound like a slowed down version Alien Ant Farm's cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" to anyone else or am I just going crazy?
Awesome song, but I can't get it out of my head that the guitars sound so similar.

General Comment:Im almost positive it's don't call me unkind. And if you can't find it on limewire as Flying at tree level, i've found it as good to know and play crack the sky.

General Comment:Everyone says it's "as starters are". It doesn't sound anything like as starters are. It's clearly as lovers are if you just listen
